6 straight thread I have started so obviously the Tribe is playing good baseball. Unfortunately, it hasn't been good enough.

The Angels and Astros are playing this week but the Astros have opened up a 3 game lead.

Astros
Twins 3 GB
Angels 3.5 GB
Tribe 4.5 GB

13 games left. They gotta go 10-3 or 11-2 to have a shot. We need to root for the Angels to win the rest of the series and then hope they just lose later.

Tuesday
Salazar v Santana

Wednesday
Kluber v Hughes

Thursday
Anderson @ Gibson

Night ball each game. 8:10 first pitch.

But seriously, I hope the Tribe just comes in taking one game at a time instead of calculating scenarios.

No problem, we're all rooting for the same guys out there.

So glad Tito decided that sacrificing with your best hitter up to bat (and Brantley out of the game) was a good call. Jesus Christ nothing makes me more pissed off than a sacrifice bunt.

Agreed...just bad baseball. And the other day he bunts Lindor in the first inning after a Kipnis lead of double. Doesn't get any dumber than that. Tito gets away with murder and nobody has the guts to call him out on his stupid decisions.

he's pushed his share of the 'wrong' buttons the past week or so.

Going to be 10-20 in Kluber starts. Hard to believe.

Offense pitiful as the the team fades. Astros lost again, so another opportunity lost. Almost as importantly the Twins will have put some distance between themselves and the Tribe, and the Angels have too.

The tribe will have one more shot in this game to mount a miracle rally.

With two out, Lindor and Santana (HR) cut the lead in half .. But it ends 4-2 :(

Glad it's finally over. Can focus on football only now for a few weeks before basketball starts up.

Even an optimist like myself is forced to admit that^^^. :(
The season lives, but only a 6 game winning streak right now can save it. You almost have to win out, and that still may not be enough.

Eternal optimist here. Last night was probably curtains for the Tribe. The O's have jumped back in front of the Tribe. The only thing we have going for us is that Houston and LA are done playing each other and we still have 5 with the Twins. So feasibly, both Houston and LA could concurrently free fall while the Tribe wins 4 of 5 from the Twins and be in the thick heading to the last weekend.

Pipe dream at best.

It's a shame because they really had a chance to make things interesting had they shown up against the Twins.

Mulva's stat was the most telling. 10-20 in games Kluber started. That can't happen. Obviously, Kluber wasn't his Cy Young self all year but he was pretty damn good for the most part. That is pathetic to leave your guy hanging out there without any run support. Change that just to 15-15 and the Tribe would be 79-71 and a game out of the Wild Card.

Going forward, even I'm optimistic with this staff and some nice pieces (Kip, Lindor, Brantley, etc) locked up long term. If they can just get some right handed power in the offseason? And BTW, I won't lose any sleep if they send old Santana packing via trade.

This team is capable of making the playoffs, especially if they play Lindor all year, which I am pretty sure that is a foregone conclusion. This season we were just missing one of those big hot streaks that jump starts a team's playoff appearance. They could never get over the hump when they reached .500. I have a hard time believing the team will be 10-20 with Kluber pitching next year.

They have some very solid pieces, most notably the staff. But, they have some glaring holes. Our best RH hitter is Gomes, and even when he is at his best hitting around .285 and lots of doubles, he isn't a power hitter. We need a guy that can come up and in any given at bat change the course of the game

I know there is a lot of talk about Arizona possibly trading goldschmit this off season. He's younger, locked up long term, I'd do what ever it took to get him minus Lindor.
