So Friday is my last day at my job and I'm doing what I can to get other people set up with open projects and one annoying piece of shit guy had asked me last week if I could give him a quote on upgrading machine controls before I left. I told him I would if I had time but I was kinda busy tying up loose ends. So he sees me today and asks if I have an estimate yet and I tell him that I hadn't had time. To which he replies "don't you understand how important this is? I have a guy calling me later on today who needs this information. Some of us still have to work here and still care"....
now ... This guy is the laziest, biggest piece of shit I've ever met, so that didn't help the situation out at all. But without any holding back I told him " you know what.. Go fuck yourself and figure it out on your own then" and walked away. He's a nobody piece of shit so I didn't feel like I was burning any bridges by telling him what I've wanted to tell him for the last 9 years.

Have you ever lost your composure at work? I'm sure I wouldn't have if I didn't have 2 days left.

I've been there, but never would let myself get to that point. I handle everything at my job in the most professional way possible.

His response?

Not sure because I walked away from him at that point. He didn't follow me or follow up since. I'm assuming he's fucking himself.

Nope. If we're peers don't talk to me like I'm your subordinate.

Then I would have conveyed that instead of "go fuck yourself."

Let me add some context too... This is something he has the ability to do himself too. He didn't need me for it. He thinks he's too busy to do it.

2 days left and I hate the miserable man on every level possible factored in though. Ive wanted to strangle him for the past 9 years.

2 days left at the job...I would have done the same. Nice work!

And for the record, I feel I provided him the same professionalism he provided me by saying how much he still cares and my lack of caring now.

Yeah! You really showed him! I bet after your fellow co-workers/employer heard that, they're really wishing you would have stayed!

Did they request an exit interview?

I once told a 55 year old geologist that if he wanted to use his outside voice, I could take his old ass outside.

I had to attend "be nice" school for that one.

I always wonder how that will go once I get the fuck out of my current company.

There are a lot of internal flaws that get ignored, which I believe would really be beneficial if people got their fucking act together. I wonder if I should bring that up if the time comes or just coast through it and GTFO.

They'll most likely listen to you and ignore you.

Well what I mean is they'll ask you anything you don't like about the company and they'll let you voice your concerns but they won't care.

The general advice is to give PC answers and keep it very close to the vest. There's no benefit to you to give them anything useful.

Absolutely. No denying that.

I also can't find it in me to feel bad about it.
