I studied Sports Sociology in college for two years.. I found it very interesting.
I want to be a Psychologist .... you mamby pamby

Has anyone else studied Sports Sociology?

I’m here on the OC Sport Forum to enlighten some of the readership of the Browns and Steelers sport fans in general. Also by popular demand.

Belly Note: Our society is evolving an so goes the area of sport, knowledge of past studies, facts and stats helps yor fantasy football team. :)

Here is an article that everyone sport fan should read:

http://physed.otago.ac.nz/sosol/v5i2/v5i2_1.html

Traditionally, this has meant that African Americans were less likely to be found in ‘thinking’ positions in football, most notably at quarterback, offensive center, and inside linebacker.

Another nice article:

https://philosophynow.org/issues/41/Sports_and_Deviant_Behavior

But, as a reflection of society it can be assumed that deviant behaviors will continue in the sports world. Sports will become more ‘ethical’ and ‘civil’ when society becomes more morally-driven.

Sports fans matter…

In your classes, did they talk about refs/umpires being frustrated athletes who relish controlling the game? ;-)

I got a B in folk and social dance

Had an A the entire class and the written final was given and the teacher (volleyball coach) left the room for everyone to cheat....didn't matter as no one knew any of that shit that was nothing like the given study guide.

I got over 100% in The History of Rock and Roll. Best 3-hour class ever. Catch a buzz, go into class, listen to music and the professor talking about said music. Then, on another day, catch another buzz and go to the music lab to listen to the homework project.
