The fact Obama an ass and the proceeds to rename a national monument requires Congressional approval.
What is your thoughts and opinions to the name change?

He's just playing politics. If it weren't named after a Republican president, it wouldn't be getting changed.

Between this and what Hoban did, tough weekend for things named after McKinley.

If your read the article, two things are clear:
1. Naming the mountain was not carefully considered - McKinley was a nominee after all
2. Alaska doesn't want it. I don't blame them. It'd be like us calling Lake Erie 'Lake Palin'

Why do you care when Alaskans want the change?

It was pushed by an Alaskan Republican Senator.
Senator Lisa Murkowski, Republican of Alaska, introduced legislation in January to rename the peak, but Ohio lawmakers sought to block the move. In June, an Interior Department official said in testimony before Congress that the administration had “no objection” to Ms. Murkowski’s proposed change.

1. Personally, I don't much care about the name one way the other.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1747849 wrote:If your read the article, two things are clear:

2. As part of the national park system, the citizens of Ohio, North Carolina, etc. have as much say as the residents of Alaska.

An intellectual would understand that making a post critiquing something is an implicit admission of caring. I guess you're either too elderly and have outgrown any intellect you may have once had, or you just never had any to begin with. You might want to consider changing your title, as it is no longer applicable to you. You have grown logic-averse in your dying years.Belly35;1747840 wrote:

Well, it took an act of congress to change the name to Mt. McKinley, so one might reasonably assume it would take the same to change it now, except we know how the current WH occupier operates.
Move along ......

In other words, as a PROTIP to Belly: If you can't spell disingenuous, you shouldn't try to act that way.lhslep134;1747915 wrote:An intellectual would understand that making a post critiquing something is an implicit admission of caring.
