The top three spots in the order are solid... and for years to come. Kipnis, Lindor, Brantley....solid.

Looks like M. Cabrera will win the batting title and not Brantley nor Kipnis.... provided he stays healthy....needs 105 plate appearances over the last 33 games.

Smoked the first pitch to center off of Joe Smith, who had a horrible inning.

Tribe needs a sweep today and then take 2 of 3 from the red hot Jays for me to find hope. Yan Gomes where have you been all season? Lonnie pisses me off more than anyone...either horrible for months or really good for months. Team should spend the off season figuring out who will play first next season. Gopher ball Tomlin on the hill today.

It's a shame they have waited this long to kick it in. With all of these teams to leapfrog, seems like they are walking in quicksand as they aren't making any ground in the WC chase. Win every day and remain 5 games back.

Just keep winning and things will take care of themselves.

Looks like Mark Shapiro will be accepting the same position with the Blue Jays. I'd assume that they just move Antonetti up and get a new GM since all it requires is giving excuses for the Dolans being cheap assholes.

Nah... Antonetti will stay put. The reason they let Shapiro go is that Paul Dolan wants the job.

Great weekend for the Tribe. I didn't get to see much baseball this weekend but a huge sweep.

On to Toronto...and they are hot. They have only lost 5 games in August. 2 of 3 from them will really get people's ears perked.

Need to go at least 6-3 on this road stand. The reality of the math is setting in. One mediocre week and it's really over.

By my count, we have 33 games left.

22-11 would be really good baseball over that stretch. That would get us to 85-77.

The Rangers currently lead the WC by 1.5 games. For them to get 85-77, they just need to go 17-16 over their final 33. So this is a tall task. If any of the teams above us have a great month, we are done. We need a great month and help. 22-11 may not be good enough.

Shapiro has been here 24 years in one capacity or another. For him to go he must have realized there was no future here that didn't involve major Dolan penny pinching. Toronto has started spending the past few seasons, interesting to see what Shapiro can do with a real budget.

Haven't seen anyone talk about it here, but stories going around about how bad the Dolan's want/need a minority investor right now to buy a part of the team for a cash infusion.

I can't believe they would have pissed through all the STO money already. What is going on with this family right now, and why would anyone in their right mind consider giving them hundreds of millions for a minority share of the team considering their history?

Tribe still below 500 and will need a 6-3 roadie just to get back to the 500 mark. Management took way too long in figuring out that Swisher and Bourne had to go. BTW, Swisher is hitting 234 for Atlanta and Bourn is ripping it at a 104 clip. LMAO at these 2 clamoring that they would lead Atlanta to the playoffs the same way they did for the tribe 2 years ago.

Future does look bright for this team after unloading the deadwood. It looks like they may have found a center fielder and maybe, just maybe the kid from Atlanta returns back to the form when he hit 3 bills a couple years ago.

Gopher ball Tomlin has strung together 4 strong starts and all of his home runs he gave up were solo shots thus keeping the team in the games.
