My thoughts about the rest of the class and why I thnk it is a very good class.
Darryl Baldwin DE 6-6 250 4.69 5.7 Solon, OH - I think Darryl is a good DE but may find a place at TE and make a big impact there. 2011 is loaded with DEs. Will make an impact on the program.
Drew Basil K 6-2 188 - 5.4 Chillicothe, OH - Good kicker... how many 5* kickers are there? none. One of the best in 2010
Corey Brown ATH 6-0 186 4.47 5.9 Springfield, PA - Quite kid that doesn't like the lime light, his moves have been compared to reggie bush. Will make a good WR and have a big impact.
Christian Bryant DB 5-10 173 4.46 5.9 Cleveland, OH -Top 10 corner in the nation got great reviews from AA bowl practices.
David Durham DE 6-3 228 4.7 5.6 Charlotte, NC - Under rated kid IMO who uses his hands on the LOS like no one else, and has a high motor, will become a great DE, the next Nathan Williams except I think he has better moves off the line.
Taylor Graham QB 6-4 211 - 5.8 Wheaton, IL - Not sure he'll make an impact, he will provide good depth and thats about it.
Chad Hagan LB 6-2 230 4.4 5.5 Canonsburg, PA - Not sure where this kid will fit in, or if he is a LB or Safety there isn't enough video on him to draw a conclusion but could be a diamond in the rough. Nobody wanted him because of his heart condition and now that is 100% behind him.
Johnathon Hankins DT 6-3 326 5.1 5.5 Detroit, MI - Big kid with high motor. As long as he stays in shape and can play with a high motor when he is in, he will be disruptive. Just watch his video. Will make an impact at a position with not much depth.
Carlos Hyde RB 6-1 230 - 5.8 Fork Union, VA - Power runner people have been looking for but a year late. We are stacked at RB but he provides good depth. There will be a great competition at RB and the best will play. Not sure how he will turn out in the long run but he will at least push the guys ahead of him.
James Louis WR 5-11 178 4.4 5.8 Delray Beach, FL - Playmaker, I think he would make a better CB than WR, I think he will make an impact where ever he ends up. I think he could pull a Flash Thomas and transfer if he doesn't see PT early. Not sure how he will end up.
Scott McVey LB 5-11 215 4.5 5.6 Cleveland, OH - Smart kid, high motor will be the next AJ Hawk or JL and you can take that to the bank.
J.T. Moore DE 6-4 220 4.75 5.6 Youngstown, OH - Not sure if he will make a big impact, I have heard things good and bad about him. I wouldn't count on him making an impact, but he was a very early offer and commit so JT must have seen something about him he liked to offer that early.
Andrew Norwell OL 6-7 275 - 5.9 Cincinnati, OH - Would have been the #2 OL prospect if he hadn't got hurt IMO. He is good and will be the forgotten prospect that makes a huge impact.
Verlon Reed ATH 6-2 185 4.5 5.6 Columbus, OH - He is starting at QB but I think he ends up at safety. I think he ends up being a depth guy.
Bradley Roby WR 6-0 175 4.4 5.6 Suwanee, GA - Starting at CB and I think he will be the next 3 star CB to be a bonafide starter, ala Jenkins and Chekwa.
Roderick Smith RB 6-3 220 4.5 5.9 Fort Wayne, IN - Most underrated RB in the 2010 class. A huge power back. Again we are loaded at RB and he will at least push others to be better.
Jamel Turner DE 6-3 210 4.6 5.8 Fork Union, VA - Another forgotten stud in the class. He would be a 5* had he not gotten into trouble and went to Fork Union. Hopefully he can keep his head on straigh because he is loaded with talent and will be an impact player.
Tyrone Williams WR 6-7 215 4.5 5.7 East Cleveland, OH - Good tall WR but there is a lot of depth at WR and he will have to earn his time. I expect him to be a kid that gets buried and makes an impact his RS JR and or RS SR year.
I don't agree with all of these so called "depth guys". If recruiting is successful every year. I wouldn't expect any player except the occasional 5* #1 player at his position guy to make an immediate impact. Otherwise redshirt or play special teams as a Feshman and don't start until a redshirt Sophomore or Junior year means you're more than a "depth guy".
Scot McVey will be the next AJ Hawk or JL??? The only great 5-11 LB to play for Ohio State was Chris Spielman. Twice an All-American and a Lombardi award winner, and led his NFL team in tackles 9 straight years.
