The Cavs traded a lot to get Love, for LBJ
The Cavs went max on Love, for LBJ
The Cavs keep Andy around, for LBJ
The Cavs want to pay Thompson arguably more than he's worth (to them), for LBJ
I mean, maybe he and Gilbert had some sort of agreement that if LBJ comes back, he basically calls the shots and has an open wallet. Still, LeBron bolted Cleveland for a "better roster" in Miami. He bolted Miami for a "better roster" in Cleveland. He just went to the finals, without Love and basically Kyrie? There's nowhere better to bolt too...
I'm betting Gilbert let Lebron build his team as a condition for coming back and I'm also betting Lebron is a big reason why the TT deal isn't done.
TT is restricted so no way the Cavs let him leave without matching. The open market will give him a smaller deal and the Cavs can match. Or TT can take the 1 year offer at like $7M or w/e which is risky for him. Cavs win either way.
