Where and how do you park in a large retail parking lot?

i didnt get the handicap parking permit (not ready to admit I need it) so that eliminate the first 10 spots.

I drive a truck and I like to keep it dent free and quick get away.... I park far out, beyond the other cars, (wife hates it) I pull forward so I can just drive away with out backing up. If it a smaller lot and I have no options but to park beside some other cars I back into the space.

You're right. Threads about parking spots are really huge draws to this site.

I just park in the first spot I see open that is relatively close.

I don't park way out, but I tend to not go that close unless the parking lot is pretty dead. I drive a compact car usually, so it's easier to exit the lot if I don't have to look around a truck to back up.

I park in the handicapped with no sticker and limp in. When I come out, if there is a crowd of angry people around my vehicle, I say "hey, watch me steal this fucker's car".

I usually leave to cheers.

It kind of depends on what I'm doing. If I'm at the grocery store getting a lot of crap, I may park out further. If it's just a few things, closer. I park in pretty much the first open spot I see

I typically pick the first pull through spot I can find. Don't care how close it is to the entrance. I never back in, and I think most people who do are jackasses.

That's because you're a woman. You probably can't parallel park either.

Backing into or pulling straight through parking spaces significantly reduces parking lot accidents.

I pull through. Most people who back into spaces rarely get it right on the first try. Then a line of cars is just waiting for them to get their shit together.

Agreed, you really shouldn't be backing up and/or parallel parking if you can't do it efficiently.

I used to have an old beat up Chevy II that was a rolling junk yard,,,,but it ran great. I would park it as close to some dicks fancy ass car as I could. When I would come out, not a car within 4 spaces of me.....

I am never buying another auto that does not have the backup camera, can back up perfectly with it.

I find that my neck works just fine, so I don't even use the rear-camera on any car I've driven.

I only use it for distance. I'm a terrible judge on how far away I am when backing up so I love it.

Also, usually I park far enough out to where I pull through into a spot. If it's completely packed for some reason I'll back into a spot as long as there aren't any cars behind me or coming towards me. Makes it way easier when leaving a crowded place.
