Is anyone else following this?

I find it fascinating in a way, as it almost reminds me of a real life Shawshank the way these guys got out.

Usually they catch escapees within like 24 hours, so these guys having made it to day 6 is an accomplishment. How long before they get caught?

15 million illegals came in relatively unnoticed; a couple more illegals roaming around free is no biggie.

No doubt they had help from someone....

Also, how in the world did they use power tools and not be heard?

That hole they cut in the pipe had to take a while. You would need a hell of a cut off wheel to cut through a pipe that size/thickness. Also, where the hell were they hiding the tools when they weren't using them. I read that this was like a month's worth of prep work.

That woman's kid also has to feel like a dumb ass right now. I saw him on CNN talking about how his mom would never help murders escape, and now she is likely to be charged as it is clear they played her big time.

Also the smell the cutting would produce would linger in the cell block for a significant amount of time.

I've seen enough of those prison shows on msnbc that they do shake downs all the time. How did they not notice the hole those guys had in the cell in their cell block that they were apparently leaving through as they wandered the catwalk at night for like a month?

When you consider they have cameras seemingly everywhere in these prisons to think these guys were able to wander around at night for as long as they did without anyone ever noticing it is amazing. CNN had an ex inmate on from this prison and the guy was dumbfounded given the level of monitoring at this place that it could go on for as long as it did without anyone ever seeing/hearing anything.

The prison is in the NE corner of the Adirondack Forest Preserve, which is a vast area of 2.6 million acres - over 4,000 square miles. If they are in there it may take a while to find them. Then again they could be far away by now - Mexico, Canada etc...

We need tiernam to check in to inform us just how often prisons do these checks and how in dept they really are. He would be our subject matter expert

And the one is obviously a redneck that can probably live off the land for months....probably already fashioned themselves a bow out of sticks and vines.

That one guy who killed a cop lasted awhile in the forest but he had a stockpile of stuff ready for him.

Tough road ahead for those two who have really nothing to work with

Having recently visited that part of New York, they could probably easily stay hidden because it's mainly forest and hills. Hell, they could probably easily slip across the boarder to Canada.

Also, if you've never visited upstate NY you aren't missing anything. It's basically West Virginia.

Lake Placid is pretty damn cool. Skiing sucks, but nice little resort area around an Olympic village.

"What do you want for that, a junior g-man badge?"

^ name that movie.

We will find out multiple guards/employees at the prison contributed to the escape, along with obtaining the power tools that were used.

Hacksaw blades were among the items Mitchell gave to the convicts, two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation told CNN. She also gave Matt two pairs of eyeglasses with lights affixed to them as well as drill bits, one of the sources said. They were purchased over the past few months.

Matt and Sweat used power tools to cut through cell walls that included a steel plate and sever a 24-inch steam pipe -- once to get in and once to get out -- and surfaced through a manhole.

This woman is a monumental dumb ass. A convicted murderer makes you feel "special" so you give him hacksaw blades so he can bust out.

CNN is also saying that she was phoning known contacts he had for him about post escape life. She was going to drive the get away car before backing out at the absolute last second.

I read they are planning on nailing her with multiple felonies. Having worked at a correctional facility for as long as she has she should know how miserable life is going to be when she's on the other side of the bars in the near future.

...my guess is she is smokin hot and had hundreds of potential suitors outside of the prison but just couldn't resist the allure of a real bad boy.

In that area, they have about as much to work with as the authorities looking for them.
