Whenever an opinion doesn't match yours they are stupid! I thought this site was for opinions. Again I don't want to see anyone lose a job. Davault is an excellent assistant principal and you make it sound like I'm trying to hang the guy. It's football not life. Look around your stands on Friday nights that's all it is and your community doesn't support the program as they once did. Sure it's more enjoyable watching a team win than lose but let me repeat this one last time: its not that the team is losing its how the program is virtually gone and that's not only wins and losses. Am I wrong?? If I am then I sincerely apologize to each and every one of you on here. Joe Harbour stepped down due to some health issues with his wife. I am not sure if she is better or not. All I am saying is watch that video and tell me you wouldn't play for that guy? Sure he had talent, you cannot win without it but he also had a community who supported him and his mission and you don't have that in Orrville. You can drop all the Pat Lorsons and Guster names on me all day long and it doesn't mean anything. Look around you on Friday night. That tells the whole story. Take out the parents of players and band members and you don't have much else. That has changed. I heard Mac and Smitty as my coaches, and I have even heard Davault. All of them had their OWN way of getting you ready to play but none worse or better than the other! I think Sanitizer would agree...it doesn't take a coach's speech to get you ready to play. Once that helmet goes on..the switch automatically turns on with it!

I am not saying you can't have your opinion but please have something to back it up. You have said you don't come to watch the team, you have not talked to the coach, you are not on the team, and you don't live in Orrville. So please tell me how you are fit to even comment on it. Sanitizer had a down year but not multiple years in football...teams don't win it is hard to watch when it happens for multiple years some disappear...right RRN you did.

I have said from the beginning I don't believe any coach you put in here makes even one game difference in the win column. Add some talent the wins will come. Sounds like there is some boys coming that may be willing to pay the price. If that happens the upper class will also get pushed. It is a win/win scenario.

Why wouldn't you want several members of the Board of Ed. to be on your side? Toss in another dozen influential folks from the town and you could lend some credence to your position. This is a reasonable argument. I am not saying I agree but nicely articulated for sure!!! My humble opinion is simple, not that what I say or my opinion matters ANY more or less then any of you fine men. It seems to have been the perfect storm in Orrville over the last couple years. Lots of different factors pulling on our program. I don't know if anyone is completely right or completely wrong but time will tell. Teams, dynasty's, golden years (yes even bad coaching) are only identified AFTER their time has passed. These are just tough times. They say you can tell the merit of a man by how he speaks and conducts himself when the going gets rough... Well the times have gotten a little tough for our old town on Friday nights but I won't stop standing up for the town that raised me!!!! GOOD PEOPLE IN OUR OLD TOWN and I have confidence that they will get it figured out. Being a Browns fan I am quite use to pain and agony! LOL! Although I really do not feel it will take that long or be that frustrating. BEAT WOOSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good speech sure doesn't hurt but shouldn't be needed once you strap em on. When it's just you and the man across from you all the talking in the world won't stop the pain train!!! Busting poop lockers loose is the only sound that matters!

For the record I don't think a new one is needed. I especially don't want a coach that I even have to consider if he is giving it everything no matter how much success he has had. That's my point with Harbour. Every school wants a proven winner at the helm, but what makes us a better option than Triway? Wooster? Waynedale? Green? Wadsworth?

Unless I'm confident that talent is coming or I can build a program, there will be better options to choose from in Ohio. The teaching part of the job isn't exactly a major positive right now either.

You and I both know that Final 4 doesn't happen if Genoa doesn't beat Clearfork. That same Clearfork team that beat Orrville 33-0! And it was 5 years ago just saying. If that Final 4 didn't happen because we play Clearfork again and get dominated because we couldn't stop there style of offense do you still have the same opinion of Davault?

Speaking of talent I want someone to share with me what Orrville team had more talent and sent more kids to play D1 college then the 2010 and 2011 Orrville teams. Again if that team plays Clearfork and loses do you still have the same opinion?

Those 80's teams of Jack Leeder (Ohio U), Denson (Tennessee), Moore (Ohio St) and Bolyard (initially Ohio St and eventually Indiana) were better.

And they didn't win a state title either.

Exactly! Zwick-they were just better coached! Mac did that in 1995 too with kids that just got after it. No D-1 talent on that team either.

Both the 95 & 98 teams had talent and depth at every position.

I'm not sure anyone would point to Mac as a guy who routinely outcoached anyone. He was a Mo disciple. Beat em with talent & muscle..that's mainly what we did in the 80's & 90's....but that's football.

He had some excellent assistants too...but all of those guys would point to the kids making them look good.

At the recent HOF induction the 98 team was honored, they played the highlight tape and you forget just how good those teams were. To have Brent Miller (Mount Union) and Brent Steiner (YSU) on the same line blocking for Dru was incredible. But that team had lots of talented role players...guys who would be superstars on teams now. Those guys are what make a good team great.

The only team more talented than Norwayne was Kenton. No way did Orrville have more talent. Girard didn't have the horses either. Norwayne had the one loss because they were complacent and a team that does that and reads their own clippings is due to a coaching error.

You might be right. I haven't been to a Norwayne game so I wouldn't know. The fact is though they have already beat several teams in that region and could make a run. Ultimately if they come up against a Coldwater its season over but that may not happen.

I only said that because I was a senior on the 94' team that played in the state championship. The 95 team (96 senior class) may be the most athletic class to come through Orrville (boys sports).

Okay you had a WR playing QB because your starting QB was out with a concussion and your stud LB and RB should probably not even have been playing with the shoulder he had! They both stepped up which Orrville fans are used to seeing happen. You are delusional.

They got after it from start to finish and exploited a few Orrville weaknesses because that's what good coaches do and they won. They were the better team that night but definitely not more talented. And RRfan you are such an Orrville expert but you nor anyone else on here hiding behind a screen name has ever answered my question: Why was Orrville throwing the ball with 1:42 on the clock against Triway with game in hand and Triway with zero timeouts. If they intercept a ball and run it back for a touchdown and win that game do you still have the same opinion of Doug? Sure it worked out for him that night but in sports it easily could have went the other way. I've yet to have anyone answer that question.
