Did anyone get in on the 1-month free trial? I missed it, and now it looks like they are only offering 7-day free trial. I'm really thinking about pulling the trigger and just buying/getting HBO. I'll have to see what the price difference is between getting it thru my cable provider and getting the stand-alone HBO Now package.

You could also look into SlingTV, but I think it's just as expensive through them as it is by itself

I heard that the HBO Now is currently only for Apple products? That is if you choose not to get normal HBO. I'm waiting to see if it spreads to other devices, because I really want it for my Roku.

Correct. HBO Now has a 3-month exclusivity deal with Apple. http://bgr.com/2015/04/01/hbo-go-apple-tv-exclusive/

After that, it will slowly leak to other service providers (i.e., PlayStation/Xbox, Android, Amazon, Roku, etc.) most likely.

HBO's price point thru Apple is $14.99 per month. I'm curious how much adding HBO to your actual cable package/bundle would cost per month. If they are willing to charge $14.99 as a standalone, I gotta imagine you can get it for $9.99 per month thru a cable vendor, no?

I have Time Warner. They just lowered my bill $15 a month for adding HBO because of some promotion.

Scarlet don't call them. When I called all I got was someone more interested in upgrading me or selling me a wireless plan. The agent then told me no offer was available to me even though I just received a postcard (with the phone number I called on it) from Uverse informing me of the deal and when it expired. When I couldn't get him to do what I was asking I asked for a supervisor and he gave me the great line he was the supervisor. I hung up on him called back and filed a complaint against the guy. Next I logged onto my uverse account and the offer was available. I just had to click a button and it was activated the next day. I also had a offer to upgrade from the u300-u400 for free for 3 months but I didn't accept that offer online.

HBO is a pretty standard $15 a month no matter where you are getting it from. Cable will be cheaper though, as you can usually bundle it or get promotions on it. But when those expire, $20 isn't uncommon. Though, it's usually coupled with Cinemax. Sometimes you can get really lucky and they bundle hbo/showtime together

Sportchampps - thanks for the info. I logged into my AT&T Uverse account, navigated to https://www.att.com/myuverse/ and under Digital TV selected "Change My Plan" under the Existing Customers section. I too saw/found the "Add HBO and get it FREE for 3 months". When I viewed the details, all it said was "Offer ends 9/20/15. Customers not eligible for more than two HBO/Cinemax upgrade offers during any 12-month period." I didn't get/understand the last part... "customers not eligible for more than two upgrade offers during any 12-month period". What constitutes as an "upgrade offer"? Does this mean if you accept their two "Free for 3 months" promos withing the span of 1 year, and then you try to "upgrade" to HBO or something else, you won't receive promotional offers?!?! I just don't want to screw myself with my regular cable/internet bill, because you know they're going to try to raise that sh!t on you again​.

They have offers like this all the time. Sometimes it's 3 months HBO and Cinemax sometimes it's Showtime. Basically in 12 months you can sign up for two if these offers. As long as you cancel after the 3 months you should be good. It won't affect any promo offers on your regular bill. You can still get a bundle deal and it won't matter with that.
