Anyone heard/excited about this new show coming to HBO? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballers
Sounds like it could be similar to ESPN's highly infamous 'Playmakers'. Here's to hoping it could/will be like that...

I was thinking it looked a little bit like Entourage with an outside viewpoint. Definitely caters to that audience they lost when Entourage went off air

Anyone catch the series premiere last night?
I just started my "3 free months of HBO", so the g/f and I are catching up on Season 5 of Game of Thrones. Afterwards, we'll probably give 'Ballers' a try. Hoping it will stir some interest from her into the world of sports.

Shows often start out slow while they're introducing characters, so I'll stick with it through this 1st season.

I thought it was better than your typical episode of entourage. Sports is more interesting to me than Hollywood. It's too soon to judge the series, though.

So far it's the opposite of Entourage because they're all broke. Kind of surprising actually.

Completely agree. I tried doing this, however, with Ray Donovan. I wanted so bad to love that show... the premise was awesome; but the show just sucked / was too slow the entire 1st season and I had to give up on it. Playmakers(ESPN) + Entourage = Ballers. Pilot was ok,will give it one or two more episodes. I think the foundation of the main characters is interesting.
