This is a personal favorite of mine. If for no other reason than a community not forgetting one of their own. Well done, Dublin.

Teams involved...

Berea
Brookhaven
Brunswick
(Columbus) DeSales
West High
Dublin Scioto
Greenville
Groveport (Obvious favorites here! :D)
Mason
Massillon Jackson
Northmont
Reynoldsburg
Springfield Holland
Toledo St. John
Upper Arlington
Van Wert

Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

I believe it was postponed last year due to storms and had to be resechuled. This was the same weekend I think that Olentangy and Liberty were not allowed to travel, but Orange hosted their tourney. I could be wrong, but I think it was the same weekend.

This is always a great tournament! I always looked forward to wrestling in this when I was in high school! I didn't look forward to making the last drop to the next lowest weight class for certification! but the tournament was always sweet!

It appears Greenville is out. So we have...

Berea
Brookhaven
Brunswick
(Columbus) DeSales
West High
Dublin Scioto

Groveport
Mason
Massillon Jackson
Northmont
Reynoldsburg
Springfield Holland
Toledo St. John
Upper Arlington
Van Wert

We should bring our freshmen team and have both, team champions AND runners-up!!! The oddity of it all.

I think West High from Columbus did. Coach said something about a model photo shoot and the other said something about heading to Virginia (maybe) to watch the Buckeyes??? I don't know. Just what I heard. ;)

I didn't have the sheets for 112 and 119. Now that I think of it, Chang may have gotten 4th.

...I was going to put that this was from memory but that would be a lie. :D

Great tournament : Was proud to have my Alma mater and Son involved. We will have my son's picture on the award stand and the Bio on what the tournament was renamed for framed as a memory to Kevin.
DS should find a way to donate donations and proceeds from this Tournament to a cause that will help fund greater awareness to the issues that led to the unfortuante passing of such a fine young man . They shouldn't be afraid to advertise that at the tournament in future years and ask fans and teams participating to give what they fell they can to the cause.

TC thank you for your kind words! It makes me so proud and happy that I was able to make people aware of how important Kevin was to, me, dublin, and the whole wrestling community. My goal is to make this one of the BEST one day tournaments in Ohio in Kevins Name! I will definitly consider taking donations in Kevins Name for a good cause, as I think this is a great idea. Not only GREAT wrestling but if we can help save a life Kevin would be soooooooo proud!!

They certainly didn't run away with it, as they caught up to Jackson in the finals.

They'll be in the State Duals at Wadsworth today as well.

What Mason did was very impressive they only had 4 varsity wrestlers compete and several weight classes had no mason wrestlers in it. Most of those kids that wrestled were sophmores, Shepherd only wrestled so he could get some reps, and of course wrestle Languis. Shepherd has not wrestled in a while. I would also like to say the Shepherd, Languis match was worth the price of addmision. Oh ya and seeing Cruiser_96's pretty mug!!
