Replaced all the kitchen appliances with Stainless Steel gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator after 15 years it was about time... Oh! After I refinished the dinning hardwood floor after pulling up the carpet, strip the 2 layers of wallpaper off, repainted the room I bought a new oriental 10x12 rug.

That sounds like necessary upgrades Belly, not splurging.

Try again.

in away your correct but could any rug have been just as good yep, could any Home Depot stainless steel appliances been a workable solution yep.... Not settling for just mediocre is splurging to some degree

Ha I know. Living down here there are just too many rivers and places to go out on the water. Seems like a good waste of money to have a little fun. It's nothing crazy, just enough to get out on the water and cruise/ drink and fish a little.

If it flys, floats, or fucks it's cheaper to rent than buy.

Next up, new bed and mattress.
Mattress shopping sucks. We just did that last month, ended up at Mattress Firm and the lady was apparently in dire need of some sales because she was throwing a lot out there to us.

It wasn't really a splurge as much as our mattress was shot and the pregnant with twins wife is already assuming she will get thrown on bed rest at some point, and wants to be comfortable.

I'm boring and my last splurge purchase was probably pre-ordering The Show for PS4.

Instead of buying an old school spring mattress I'd suggest looking into Latex mattresses (Like Casper, Brooklyn bedding, etc). The prices are better and the sleep studies and reviews say it is much better for your back and everything else.

I found a mattress that I liked at Sam's club. I took the specs and price to Mattress Firm. They laughed and said "Go buy it."

We will be in the market for a new mattress soon. We'll be going this route.

I really don't splurge, but spend my money on good bourbon/ whiskey.
Bought Stranahan's Diamond Peak, $70 a bottle, and Pikesville Rye, $55 a bottle, recently.
The Diamond Peak is very good, but not worth the price, and the Pikesville Rye is fantastic.

I bought a bottle of Aberlour scotch a few weeks ago. It was well worth the $55.

Delicious. Hard to find, but I love it.
I found a bottle of that in Fort Wayne, Indiana over the Holidays. I dip into that every so often.

I enjoy Blanton's. My go to recently has been Eagle's Rare. I can get it for about $30 a bottle and it's great. Plus at $30 I don't mind if my partner uses it for making Tennessee Mules. I've always wanted to try Angel's Envy, a bourbon that is finished in Port barrels. Anyone ever try this?

Broke open 1 of my Christmas gift this weekend. Made some Koval old fashioneds, delicious.

My personal last splurge was wireless/noise cancelling headphones. Amazing for travel, especially the redeyes when I gotta get up and piss. But a lot tougher to sleep on a plane with them versus the buds.

American Eagle Rare? I had that at a whiskey bar on a recommendation and it was great. I can't seem to find it near me and I do my bourbon shopping in goddamn Kentucky.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. Not sure why I thought it had American in the name. Great bourbon.

Eagle Rare is also my go to. But, in MD, it is harder to find now a days. I have to make the trip to VA to grab it. I love it as it mixes well and is great near.

I've had Angels Envy. It is ok. I thought it was a little light to me, but I know some people that love it.
