When is the last time you splurged and bought something for yourself that you didn't really need?

It's been a while since I blew some money on myself for the hell of it, so last week I saw a decent deal on a really nice snowboard, said 'fuck it' and pulled the trigger.

I snagged it last week for $150 off full retail.....$450 shipped. It's a Never Summer Proto HDX, made in the USA. It rides like a dream. I took it out last Saturday....holy shit, I'm amazed at how much better I am on this thing. My first was one purchased in '06 and I was way overdue for a replacement. Technology has come a long long way since I started!

Next up will probably be a new suit. I need something lighter in color and fabric for warmer seasons.

Anyway....brag post over. Wtf did you buy?

Man...for myself?

Been way, way too long. That is what happens when ya get married and now have the wife and her kids to worry about.

About 4-5 years ago was a new couch and bed with my bonus, but that doesnt even seem to cover this subject.

Damn, this is depressing....I cannot tell you the last time I spent $100+ on myself.

Damn, it's been a long time. Between the work we've been doing to our house, our upcoming vacation, and me dropping the equivalent of an extra mortgage payment every month to try to get my student loans paid off, I haven't really been spending money on anything else.

I just got a huge amount of backpack from the VA so I went out and bought a bunch of random stuff. Xbox One. Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. A nice tent and camping stuff. Fishing gear. A few city pickers and tomato barrels for my garden. 2 aerogardens for my indoor gardening.

I can't think of anything major recently. I get anxiety when I buy myself things.

I do splurge to go to Rock on the Range every May. Between a ticket for 3 days, hotel for 3 nights, food and booze...it's easily a $700+ weekend. I'd say that, in general, my splurges seem to be for concerts and/or travel rather than material items. I am going to South Dakota and Boston in May and June this year.

Thinking of buying a new Mercedes this Summer but really haven't had a splurge purchase in a while. Hoping my bonus this year is at least $20k so I can get the upgraded model instead of the basic version. I guess we all have to sacrifice in this economy.

Not a single item, but just the past 2 months I booked my trip to Turkey for this summer, bought tickets to the Book of Mormon, and bought my dad and I tickets to the 2016 NCAA Wrestling Tourney in NYC (to be fair my bro pitched in since he is going too).

Gonna have to do more traveling for work around the Chicago area. Plus I'm sick of flying or taking a megabus to Cincinnati. Want to be able to go to Cleveland to see a Browns or cavs game whenever I want.

For myself? Probably nothing in awhile. I am pretty frugal with my money, so I tend not to spend much on myself. If you take away our house and new items in it (within the last 6 months), there isn't much. I do want to splurge on either a deep sea or inshore fishing charter, and possibly a kayak or a boat, but most likely plane tickets to Europe.

Grow a pair before you get married, and that doesn't happen.

I'm the same as Fab. I don't buy material items much for myself, but I spend quite a bit every summer on concerts.
