I agree that that day off may be a little more useful next week or something. The Mariners played 3 straight and get their first off day today and they'll be traveling to Oakland. The Mariners set up makes sense. They played 3 at home. Day off. 3 in OAK, 3 in LA. Day Off. 3 in TEX, 3 in HOU. Day Off and then Minnesota.
Indians play game 1. Day off. 2 games and then travel home and play 3 more with no days off. day off. 2 vs. CHW. day off. 2 att Minnesota.
Just seems weird how they time the early ones for some teams.
Could be because with it being opening day, all the festivities, all the hoopla, some towns want that second day off to push back the opener, and the fans who bought opening day tickets, still get to go to opening day.
I know for Cincy it is such a huge, huge deal to get the tickets I think they just want to ensure those who plan to attend get to.
Cincy has done a nice job with opening night as well for their second game.
Also just the weather in general for makeup games early on.
