Toledo is one of the bigger disappointments of the year. But this should be a great tournament. Sucks that it isnt on TV anywhere (outside of the viewing area) until the final. But, oh well.
Ill be pulling for the Rockets, but fear they lose to C. Michigan in the semis.

Ohio was a massive disappointment this year. Sure, new coach is always rough, but not 10-19, 5-13 in conference rough after consistent success. The seniors just would not play for Saul.
TWC isn't even an available carrier in Massillon (THANK GOD), so the only way to watch it around here all week is by internet (free on mac-sports.com). Originally it was thought that the new ESPN contract voided the TWCSN one, but we weren't that lucky

I have PLENTY of TWC down in Carolina...but of course, its all local. Its on TWCSN, but they have so many of those. I obviously get the Carolina one, not the Ohio one. I was PRAYING that since ESPN has the final, TWC would grant ESPN the rights to the ESPN3 telecast, but it doesnt sound like that is gonna happen. Still holding out hope!ts1227;1710689 wrote:Ohio was a massive disappointment this year. Sure, new coach is always rough, but not 10-19, 5-13 in conference rough after consistent success. During the regular season, anything on TWCSN was available on ESPN3, with a local blackout to ohio TWC customers because fuck TWC. If that holds, you'd be golden.Laley23;1710691 wrote:I have PLENTY of TWC down in Carolina...but of course, its all local. Its on TWCSN, but they have so many of those. Still, at the very worst, use the mac-sports.com webcast and Chromecast it over to the TV.

Honestly it wouldn't shock me if they made it to the semis or finals. There isn't a standout team this year, so really any of the top 6 seeds have a shot IMOClassyposter58;1710715 wrote:BG is gonna stun the world! But seriously though I like Kent to win it all

I'm hoping OU's game is during the afternoon Monday. So I can pay attention online at work as they lose by 35.

It was only NIU, but impressive win for the Zips tonight. It was a blowout so the starters got some rest. They'll need all they can get with the potential of playing 5 games in 6 days.

Bye Bye WMU. David Brown's 20yr career officially coming to an end it looks like. Beat Kent!

Looking like a CMU and Buffalo final tomorrow. Toledo disappointed again, Akron out of gas playing their 4th game in 5 days.

CMU/Buffalo may be the most boring final ever
Here's to hoping the refs fuck over Bobby Hurley and his whiny Dukie ass goes nuclear.

I don't mind Buffalo the team, but I agree. Fuck that whiny bitch Bobby Hurley. I really don't know much about CMU besides the fact that they shoot the 3 a lot and are fairly young.ts1227;1712715 wrote:CMU/Buffalo may be the most boring final ever

Game actually has been pretty good so far. Both teams shoot the lights out. Bobby Hurley is still a dick.
Akron and Toledo have officially declined CBI/CIT participation. BG and WMU will be in CIT.

Nice for Buffalo. They gave UK a pretty solid 25 minutes very early in the year.

Question, since I'm pulling an ETB and too lazy to take two minutes to look it up myself: Is there something about Buffalo that makes them appealing as a seed compared to other MAC teams? From paying attention to Lunardi, when he had Toledo or CMU as the rep, they were a 13-14 seed all year. Then, come yesterday, before the championship game, he had Buffalo in the "next four out" and when they won, he put them as a 12 seed.
I don't really pay much attention to them at all. I know they gave Kentucky a much better game than one would have expected, but there has to more going into that, doesn't there?

Their RPI is up around 32, so that helps their case a ton. They were the first remote shot at an at large in years.
More cynically you could argue they'll get favors for having a Duke guy as coach (Hurley)

I think Akron may have had a shot towards the end of the year a few seasons ago. They were ranked top 25 in AP for a week, 19 game win streak, then the PG getting busted with pot before the final game in the season with Kent put an end to that. Zips made the tourney as a 12 seed that year and then proceeded to get embarrassed by VCU without a PG.ts1227;1712940 wrote:Their RPI is up around 32, so that helps their case a ton. ill be pulling for Buffalo. I think their games vs Kentucky and Wisconsin were great experience and will help them in the tourney. Something I've been arguing for years with Akron fans is that we need to play some tough games like that. Who cares if we lose. Hurley is gone Id imagine, but hope he stays for a few more years. He is good for the MAC.

I think the thing that hurt Akron that year (and most of the 2000s) was their non conference schedule was TERRIBLE. I think their RPI still stayed really low because they played a shitload of low D1 and D2 teams. They finally started to beef it up pretty well over the past few years after that.
