That doesn't change all the shady shit Hillary has been involved with. I don't understand how she gets away with it. To pretend like she didn't say Benghazi was about a YouTube video? Wtf EVERYONE watched that right? And she straight up acts like it never happened. I don't understand. I know previous administrations have used personal email servers to get around giving up their emails and I don't think it's the end of the world. But you can't tell me she isn't doing everything possible to drag this out and cooperate as little as possible but just enough to make it look like she is cooperating. "I gave you all the emails I had. Oops they found 100,000 more? Well I didn't know." She's shady AS FUCK and deserves everything that is said about her. I'm still hoping they bring charges before the election.

I can't vote for either of them even as a vote against the other. I won't participate in anything that legitimizes either of them as president.
None of the previous admins used a private email server. This has already been debunked as a piss poor defense http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/mar/09/hillary-clinton/hillary-clinton-said-my-predecessors-did-same-thin/.

Regardless of who wins, if you vote for either, you're voting for an awful candidate. It's basically a matter of if you want to maintain the status quo of the past handful of decades or go with the complete unknown. Or, in the context of this site, if you want to watch QQuaker cry like a little bitch about every single thing imaginable (while ironically making fun of "liberal safe zones" and other stupid shit) for 4 more years or watch him comically act like every problem in the world has magically been solved because a R is in office.

It's totally great to have that inspiring of a choice... Where "typical corrupt politician" is the safe choice and "dude that'll say ANYTHING to get press" is the alternative.

I guess thats the consolation with this election. If Hillary wins we get more QQuaker posts. If Trump wins we get to see the easily offended butt hurt talk about moving to canada and I truly wish they keep to their promise.

It's also going to suck when an R does win the presidency, to have QO constantly posting Drudge report articles about how, despite the President playing golf on a Tuesday, oil prices rose 5% that day and therefore can be concluded that said president is bringing the economy back around.

I also think Trump is an idiot in addition to an asshole and bully. The interview on foreign policy has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read from anyone, much less a presidential candidate.

It wasn't the secretary of state but there was a minor email scandal under Bush (why am I defending Hillary?) I think her handling of top secret info is also cause for prosecution.

My hopes are this....

Hillary wins, continues the same bullshit.

Then the GOP takes a real good fucking look at themselves, gets with the times and revamps.

As long as the GOP caters to religious people and their backwards social aspect, they will continue to lose national elections. Congress may still trend 50/50 but I don't see the GOP being competitive on a national scale anymore.

The HRC team is playing the "Woman Card" for real! This election is going to be fascinating to watch. You can't make this stuff up!

"The campaign asks supporters for a donation so they can get their own “woman card”. “…you’ll be able to play the woman card anytime you want,” the email reads."

Pretty much this. You would think they would learn their lesson from 2012. It's time to give up on most social issues.

The weird alliance of fiscal conservatives, neocons, and the religious right that has made up the modern Republican party is falling apart on a national scale and you're right, it's that 3rd group that's dragging them down. Let the social conservatives and evangelicals go form their own theocratic party and move on. Maybe then you can win a national election again.

I think this would be great. I would rather align with a group that was focused on representing their constituents as opposed to pandering to others for a win.

Plus the added benefited of sealing them off in their own little echo chamber of a political party to scream about the gays, trans, and planned parenthood so the adults can start working through issues of public policy that actually matter. Everyone wins!

Just call it the bigot or ignorant party. Both fit.

It's pretty commonly accepted that the moderates/independents don't vote much in primaries. We let the extremes of both parties pick our choices for President - in a record year I think only about 20% of Nov'16 voters are voting in the primaries.

So maybe we'll get better candidates when moderates/independents stop sitting out the nomination process.

Personally, I think the left-wing voters in Democratic primaries are as bat-shit crazy as the right-wingers, just different reasons/issues. These people need to be relegated to the fringe of politics, where they belong, where they have an important contribution to the dialogue but do not dictate policy.

I'm a registered independent and wasn't able to vote. I missed the deadline to declare a party.

Nice system we have here!

It's definitely broken. I'm not sure how to fix it, but I do think if all the people who vote Repub in November bothered to vote in the primaries, then we wouldn't have Trump (or Cruz for that matter). Not to mention how quickly candidates get weeded out, driven largely by states that won't factor into the general.

The system is so stupid as far as primaries and caucuses go. Every damn Tuesday for an eternity, you have them, with candidates having go decide if they can swim or if they've already sunk because they didn't get enough support in places like Iowa and New Hampshire. It just leads to this non-stop news cycle that's so draining that it leads to all but the most zealous supporters of a candidate or party to just become apathetic after a while.

A candidate who is hardly a stalwart of social conservative values likely taking the GOP nomination equals social conservatives are to blame. Solid logic.

You are right them damn evangelicals. The neocons and their unpopular wars had little to do with it.

If you take away the buffoonery elements of Trump, you have a guy who said Planned Parenthood does great things.

Could be close to happening.

But then again part of that is why guys like Glenn Beck are freaking out because they won't let go of gay marriage and abortion.
