I working on a computer for a friend, and I just can't figure it out. I'm getting the dreaded Unknown Device Code 43 for the USB ports. I have tried many fixes, including:
-Disable/Enable USB
-Uninstall/Re-Install USB
-Update Drivers
-Clean Registry
-Run Virus Scan
-Cycle power
-Manual registry changes
Anyone have any idea? I've put about 10 hours into this, and nothing is working. It's an HP Pavilian G7 running Windows 7 64-bit.

Has the usb controller stopped working? Have you tried to boot into a linux live disc and tried out the USB ports? This is why I usually just restore the computer to a factory image.

Sounds like Ender Wiggin got to the computer and installed some magic scripts.

The problem is it has some very expensive software on it that has installation limits. It's a work computer for a t-shirt business. I've tried everything though, so it may be a situation where windows needs to be re-installed.Jawbreaker;1708560 wrote:Has the usb controller stopped working? Does the code come up when you plug the device into the usb port?
are you using the same usb cable?

That is why I said to use something like an Ubuntu install disc and boot from the disc. It won't touch anything on the hard disc but you can check the USB ports.se-alum;1708575 wrote:The problem is it has some very expensive software on it that has installation limits.
