Two great careers also wrapped up friday on the court. With only baseball left Rolf and Bassit have achieved a lot of great things in the last 3 years in 3 different sports. Crazy accomplishments especially with how rare the 3 sport athletes are anymore.
I am going to give my two thumbs up to the parents of these athletes today. From Eastwood, Elmwood, Genoa, Lake, Otsego, whereever....I have heard only good things about the athletes. Sure a 16-18 year old kid will mess up here or there. However, I haven't heard much of it.
I am not shocked that no SLL team won. Does that mean we have a bad league, not in the least. This just means that basketball is not the most important sport in our league. Different leagues favor different sports. The SLL is a football baseball type league.
Classy- I agree with you on Bassitt. I have never seen a basketball game played better than he did last night out of any year I can remember. Hands down the MVP of our team and hands down one of the best basketball players to ever play at our school. Its a shame that the league shorted him of the awards. He is a great player, better person. Like I said, same can be said with many of these athletes and it makes me proud as a parent. You have youngsters walking around going up to these athletes and looking up to them. As a parent, I am honored to have my children look up at these athletes today.
Standing ovation to the parents of these athletes!
