His history of drafting quarterbacks in the later rounds isn't all that impressive. Matt Hasselback? Ty Detmer?....grrrrr. Mark Brunnel was good though.

If he means what he says and says what he means, then he needs to trade up and grab Bradford.

He states the importance of having a great quarterback...well then go get the highest rated one and be done with it.

What happened with Quinn happenend. It wasn't his fault. And should have no impact on pickng another one early.

Hasselbeck? Really? Hasselbeck was a pretty damn good QB when healthy.

No, he does NOT want to move up THAT far to get Bradford. If Bradford slips down from #1, then you may want to look at him but after the Brady Quinn debacle, no way you give up two 1st's and more for Bradford.

Nice read on Holmgren....

Sims is gone from seattle
"Rob Sims is out of there, they've already told him. They aren't letting Rob Sims work out at the facility, so he's gone, he will not be a Seahawk next year. I talked to Rob last week and he told me that they (Seahawks) have given him word that they did not want him around the facility working out because they didn't want him to get injured."

The problem here is that the Chickens want a 4th for him and the Browns are thinking 6th. He may be packaged along with Seattle's center and draft picks to acquire Brandon Marshall.

BTW....don't be surprised if the Browns do NOT select a RB in this draft. Peyton Hillis is expected to be one half of a two-headed RB "monster" with Harrison this year.
Did you forget about James Davis? I think whoever picks up mccoy in the draft gets a real steal.

BR, the last link about Joe Thomas and Sgt. Eric Harder is a great story. I wish we had more players like Thomas who are eager to shed light on the true heroes in our world.

Didn't forget about Davis but from what I've heard, they are not counting on him to be a major contributor.

You cannot count a guy into the rotation when he hasn't proved anything (Davis).

I'd love to get McCoy after round 1.

Wouldn't want to do it for McCoy though. The ONLY QB I'd use picks to move up on is Bradford and even that is way too steep.

Yeah, they have an article on ESPN but its an insider article.

McCoy isn't the biggest guy but he is 6'2 210 with pretty good speed for a QB.

Not sure about trading into the 1st for him (depends on what we give up) but I think getting an extra 2nd with him available would be great. I just don't think its necessary to get into the 1st round for him as I think he'll still be on the board on Friday.

no way mccoy makes it past St. Louis at 33 (assuming they don't go bradford/clausen #1).

Well if the Rams don't go Bradford at #1 we won't have to worry about McCoy because Holmgren will likely trade up if he falls to #3 (assuming Detroit won't take him).

I just don't get why people think bradford is the best QB in this draft. Just from watching college games, McCoy made the best throws and decisions to me. I don't think the big XII defenses weren't that great either, but those two are two of the best QBs.

So was I. If Sam Bradford falls out of the top slot in the draft and as low as #3, I think that Colt McCoy will be a moot point because I think Holmgren/Heckert will trade up for him. The asking price to go from #7 to #1 is VERY steep where they might be able to stomach a move from #7 to # 3 or 4.
