If no one secures a punt, or the kicking team gains possession, the defending team takes possession at the spot the ball became dead.
If no one secures a scoring kick blocked within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage, or the kicking team gains possession, the ball belongs to the defending team where the ball was previously snapped unless the snap was with in the defending teams 20 yard line, in that case the next snap will take place at the 20 regardless if the ball enters the end zone or not.

Considering Houston and Memphis play each other on 11/14, and Temple Plays Memphis on 11/21, and the winner of UH and Memphis will play Temple in the AAC championship game, I think we can put this hypothetical to bed without addressing it.

Let's rephrase then. What if the AAC Champ is undefeated?

The only way it means anything is if Memphis is the AAC champ and Ole Miss wins the SEC.

Disagree. Temple could be 13-0 with wins over Penn State, Notre Dame and Memphis twice. Not quite a Memphis resume, but pretty good.

The key for Memphis is obviously their conference slate also includes Navy and Houston, 2 teams to be guaranteed at least 8-10 wins.

They will beat each other up and Toledo will get the gauranteed spot for non power 5 team in a New Years Six bowl

I don't think Toledo will beat Bowling Green but that's just my opinion. I don't think that they can score enough points to stay with them, BG is kind of a mini Baylor or TCU. Memphis appears to be the best team but I'm pulling for Tom Herman and Houston to stay unbeaten.

Selfishly i want Herman to be average until Urban retires. I have a feeling Herman is going to be coaching a big boy school in the next couple years and if/when OSU comes calling, the OSU job is somehow less appealing.

*Not that the job is not appealing, but if you're the head coach at UH and you're making >$1 million per year, and OSU wants to interview you, it means something. If you're the HC at USC and making $3-4 million per year, it means a little less.

I agree. Plus BG and UT are in separate divisions so UT would have to beat them in the MAC title as well

true. But if he gets the USC job, i figure he stays since he grew up and went to college so close to LA.

Barring a shocking move by Meyer to leave, it wouldn't seem the timing is right for Herman/OSU. His stock will be at an all-time high at a time OSU is least likely to need a new coach.

Wouldn't be shocked at all if Tom Herman follows Urban as head coach at OSU. I could see Urban staying for 4-5 more years and then heading to the NFL since he'll have done everything he wants at the college level and will want a new challenge. Have no idea though, would love to see Urban stay for 20 years.

I can't see Meyer in NFL, too much time from his family and too much stress on his heart.

Michigan wins a little brown jug, and they act like they won a national title. It's sad (and funny) to see how far the expectations for their program have fallen.

So UM QB is out and you are easily in OT with a FG.....you go for it and lose at home.
