Well the Youngstown Vindicator is reporting that Ron Stoops will be leaving Cardinal Mooney to join Youngstown State University's new head coach Eric Wolford as his secondary coach.

I know the name Stoops and Mooney go hand in hand, but what was his capacity with Mooney? OC? DC?
And this may be a dumb question, but is this another brother or an uncle or what?

Terrific move for Stoops. Perhaps my alma mater will turn it around now.

That is my thinking......maybe this new staff can get the ball moving in the right direction now. Good Luck Coach Stoops.

One more thing...Mooney loses one hell of a coach.

I honestly didn't think he would be staying after his boys graduated.
Congrats Coach Stoops...best of luck at YSU.
Mooney's strength over the last few years has been the defense. Whoever comes on staff to take over the defense has some big shoes to fill!

Ronnie filled some big shoes himself when he became the defensive co-ordinator at Mooney.....his Dads! Ron Sr. always tell ya when you screwed up in class or elsewhere that he'd put his 10 & 1/2 up you keestersherm03 wrote: I honestly didn't think he would be staying after his boys graduated.

Rumor was that he was certainly out the door if Mark Stoops got the job at YSU. Best of luck to him and also best of luck to whomever should fill his shoes at Mooney. A tall task indeed.
