If the Lions don't trade/release him, I could see him retiring. He's already rich and he's not sure he wants to keep getting hurt playing for a shitty team. I absolutely believe he'd sign on to play for a contender.

Tampa Bay is just stupid.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Eagles where he made his name as a hot HC prospect while a coordinator?

I mean, I usually laugh at any report saying that Gruden might be interested in a coaching job (especially when Foot was trying to say that he'd go to Cleveland because of Manziel), since he got a ring and currently has the definition of a cushy job (calls games, gets to all-out praise any QB he wants), so why would he want to take job to try to turn around a meh team, while working those 20-hour days people were saying he pulled back in the day? But if he has nostalgia for his coaching roots, I could at least give him a 15-20% chance of deciding to roll the dice with this job.

I feel like he'd want to take over a team with a proven QB or at least a good young QB.

Khalil Mack was named all-pro at OLB and DE. First time in history.

Interesting, Chargers have to wait a year, but if they don't take the offer, Raiders can jut in if Chargers don't.
Wonder if it is the same location/stadium for both teams.

I believe both will be playing out of the new Inglewood stadium.

Chargers don't have to wait a year, they've just been given a year to work out a lease agreement with the Rams. If they agree tomorrow the Chargers can play in LA in 2016 too.

The issue becomes where the teams go in LA for the next 3 seasons (Inglewood won't be done til 2019) because it's currently written in the Coliseum/USC contract that 1 pro team can be there in addition to USC

Only 2. Raiders can only go to LA if the Chargers don't commit to it within the next year (at which point SD loses their right to relocate)

It's a joke they have 1 let alone 2. LA does not deserve a football team. If they have 2 years of sucking it will be a complete failure. There is no real sports loyalty in that city, this is part of why they failed 3 times hosting a NFL team.

I don't see the Rams or Chargers holding any interest. The Raiders were unbelievable with some of their teams there and they could withstand the culture makeup of that city.

Raiders won a SB and made playoffs 7x in 12 years and had HOF names and guys to root for...Marcus Allen, Bo Jackson, Howie Long, Tim Brown...even their damn punter was a sight to watch.

And they still couldn't get fan support. They used to cover sections to avoid blackout rule.

Pretty much this. What happened to Lakers fans? Yes there are still Kobe fans but once he's gone do they relocate the Lakers?

I know this comment is tongue in cheek, but honestly after Kobe retires the Lakers attendance will plummet.

Take with a grain of salt due to it being speculation, but Deadspin says that one "no" was Mark Davis (makes sense, he wanted to move there, not watch other teams move there) and the other could have been Mike Brown. Why? Because the owners in general love the moves because of the LA revenue and if revenue rises, salaries rise and he doesn't want to have to pay more money to players.

http://deadspin.com/my-god-mike-brown-might-be-the-worst-owner-in-sports-1752714012

If true, that might be the most darkly hilarious aspect of what is a shitty day in NFL history.

If it comes down to, say, them or Philly, the NBA will rig it for the Lakers. Maybe partially because it's the Lakers, but mainly because it's Philly, once again in a position where they can be clowned for their multi-year, indefinitely-lasting tank plan.

I'd rather him go to Philly honestly. That team is so bad.
