Everybody wants to jump Pete Carroll's bones tonight. But hardly the worst call ever. That honor belongs to Bill Cower whose decision late in a game will never be topped. Up 10 with 40 seconds to go, he ordered his punter to take a safety. Now THAT folks, was really dumb.

The Seattle receiver was open. The DB just made a better play on the ball.

Remember Seattle won the SB last year and the Browns are unanimously the worst NFL team ever.

7 times this season Lynch was given the ball at the 1 and scored 3 times.
I think Seattle just got too cute there. With that said though, NE made a helluva play and if the ball was thrown better it is a TD or INC>

Could have done three more..second third and 4th down if they wanted to after running it on first. They seemed discombobulated after that amazing catch and had to burn a TO, but they also let time burn after that first down run down to the one.Tiernan;1702297 wrote:2 running plays to get 1yd? I was thinking that NE shoulda called TO after taht first Lynch run and was thinking this game was gonna go into OT with a TD and NE driving for a FG>

Is that counting the previous wins from the franchise which moved to Baltimore? Since their return has any team been worst than the Browns? I thought Jacksonville but found this:like_that;1702170 wrote:Factually incorrect.

Even the Jag's have done better than the Browns since 1999.

Hey jackwagon, you said the browns were the worst team ever. Hard to say last year's browns team was worse than the Buccaneers or Lions teams who have went winless in a seasonUz2Bon36;1702360 wrote:Is that counting the previous wins from the franchise which moved to Baltimore? If you meant to say the Browns were the worst team this season, that would be factually incorrect as it has already has been pointed out they didn't even come close to having the worst record this season.
If you meant they have been the worst NFL franchise ever (meaning since the existence of the NFL) you would be factually incorrect as well. Not counting their time in the AAFC, the Browns have had 24 NFL playoff appearances, 4 NFL titles, and 16 players in the HOF (4th largest among franchises). The NFL existed before 1999, thus you are factually incorrect. Nice hyperbole fail dipshit.

^^^^^ True dat!
edit: Did a little research:
Team known as Steelers first season was 1940 (1943 and 1944 teams merged with the Eagles and were called the Steagles, so the following record does not include them)
30 seasons from 1940 to 1971: 146-215-15
7 seasons over .500
5 seasons at .500
18 seasons under .500

Not even close to the worst call ever. It wasn't even the worst coaching decision in the final minute of the game. That belongs to the Hoodie not calling a TO after the 1st down run.
If Seattle punches that in...that is all anybody would be talking about.
Throw on 2nd down. If you don't get it...you have the run/pass option on 3rd down. If you run on 2nd down and don't get in...3rd down is an obvious pass situation.
That was the 1st interception a NFL QB threw on the 1 yard line this season. It just doesn't happen. Judging a decision based only on the outcome is just stupid. When I woke up this morning, I had a decision to go to work or not. If I choose to go to work and get into an accident and die, does that make my decision wrong? Certainly not. Sometimes things just don't go your way and random stuff happens.

I thought so as well. I was saying they should call a TO, heck, even thought the game would go OT with a SEA TD and NE FG.TBone14;1702707 wrote:Not even close to the worst call ever. Some pundits are crediting the hasty Seattle call with not having much time because the hoodie didnt call the TO. Have heard a few mention how genius it was to not allow Seattle to regroup and have a little extra time to get the right play.
Not so sure I believe it, but then again....why wouldnt he call a TO?
I know Bobby Knight used to say he was reluctant to call a TO right at the end because he felt his teams were more prepared, and ready for the situation and all a TO would do is let the other coach get his team settled down.

Right and so for those 7 seasons, all but one was below .500 and that one was .500 even.thavoice;1702710 wrote:Actually they started in 1933 as the Pirates and were so bad Art Rooney changed the name.
22-55-3 added to the previous makes them 168-270-18

I meant since they returned to the league. I didn't mean to specify this past season. In fact, this past years Browns team was one of their most successful.
I live in the present and not considering the Browns record before they moved to Baltimore. From their return to the league to now I believe the Browns are the worst nfl team.

Clowns are definitely the worst team since they came back. I'm not talking records which they may right too, but more importantly is the fact she is about ready to declare war within the record ice. fuck this bitch
