I dont know about the varsity team, but the jv will be good enough to beat anyone in region 14.

I should have put a smiley face after that so you guys could pick up the sarcastic tone of my post. It was a little shot at someone on the other site who said something of that nature before the playoffs last year

I truely think Genoa will be good enough next year to again walk through the league, with only Eastwood and Lake possibly giving them a game, but I cant see them advancing far into the playoffs. And what is there OOC schedule for next year. If they play Northwood again that should be a good one, as the rangers IMO are going to be a contender in R18 this upcoming season.

I wouldn't mind the Red Riders and Genoa hooking up in 2010. That was a dynamite football game.

I think the thing to watch for is how will we replace our backfield. I personally think we will as I see it being Dufendock, Cuevas and Pickard with Sibby getting lots of touches too. This O-line looks incredibly good too as they'll be a veteran line with lots of size and will most likely pound the snot out of local teams next year. Does anyone know who they play next year in the non-con other than Oak Harbor and PC. I'd like to see us against PH

Lol there may not be many Genoa posters in here yet, but there are certaintly some interesting and comical responses. :)

Genoa's 2010 schedule has not yet been released, to my knowledge, so I am going to have to assume they will have the same schedule out of conference in Rossford, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, and Northwood. All four of them to be played at home. I don't see much coming from Rossford or Port Clinton, but Northwood will definately be better next year. I believe they only lose players off their O-line and D-line, so they have plenty of skill players coming back. Oak Harbor will be interesting, they were better last year, and this year will likely be a make or break year for Coach May. SLL opponents are a bigger concern though. Eastwood and Lake will be good next year, but who else?

Genoa has 5 offensive (Sutter, Hayes, Szypka, Dufendock, Allgier) and 4 defensive (Wojo, Upham, Dufendock, Roberts) starters returning. That means there will be a lot of new faces coming in. In spite of this I still think Genoa will be very good next year and a favorite to win the SLL. Genoa is very deep in runningbacks again. Dufendock will get more carries, and Cuevas will be playing a lot of RB as well as linebacker. He played very well last year, but didn't get a lot of playing time due to the depth at his position. Sibby and Pickard will probably split carries.

I can hear a collective sigh of relief from the area when I say that there probably won't be many predicting a state championship or any threads questioning if Genoa is a lock for anything. Genoa will be deeper next year, but will be hardpressed finding replacements from last year's senior class. Who will be Genoa's QB next year? By the sounds of it Bryer probably wont be playing under center. Speiss said himself that Wonnell and Lester were the better TE's he has ever coached, who will fill in there?
