I see a some parallels in that season to next season for the 2015 game.
1. Ohio State will be coming off a national championship season in which they had a super sophomore class.
2. Michigan has a new head coach
3. The game will be played at Michigan
I'm hoping that history does not repeat itself though and Ohio State once again defeats Michigan in Ann Arbor.

If that makes you nervous at all you're weak.

Hahaha, where did I say I am nervous? I've never been more confident as a Buckeye fan with this team and head coach. I just said I see parallels. You're making too many assumptions about my post.lhslep134;1697416 wrote:If that makes you nervous at all you're weak.

History tends to repeat itself but really can't see scUM mounting much of a challenge against the level of talent returning for the Buckeyes. It was Woodys conservative offense that handcuffed Rex Kern and the boys and allowed Bo to execute a great game plan to start the 10 yr war.

Using the word if means there were no assumptions. IF you were nervous then you're weak. IF you're NOT nervous.....get it?dwccrew;1697419 wrote:You're making too many assumptions about my post.

IF there was no assumption, what was the point of you making the statement?lhslep134;1697422 wrote:Using the word if means there were no assumptions. IF you were nervous then you're weak. IF you're NOT nervous.....get it?

Agreed. Urban will definitely have the team ready to introduce Harbaugh to the rivalry as a head coach. I just find it interesting how going into this season has so many similarities of that season. I don't think the result will be the same, I think the Buckeyes run the table next season.Tiernan;1697420 wrote:History tends to repeat itself but really can't see scUM mounting much of a challenge against the level of talent returning for the Buckeyes. To share my feelings on people who find this sort of thing nerve-inducing. Why else?dwccrew;1697424 wrote:IF there was no assumption, what was the point of you making the statement?

Well, I don't think anyone finds it very nerve-inducing (except maybe Michigan fans), just interesting of the similarities of the two seasons.lhslep134;1697426 wrote:To share my feelings on people who find this sort of thing nerve-inducing. Why else?

There may be parallels and similarities....but that's about it.
There are two main differences here.
First, Michigan simply doesn't have the same talent pool available at the moment, pound for pound, as they did in 1969. Make no mistake...no way Harbaugh will pull off that kind of miracle this time around. Second, Urban isn't Woody. The "3 yards and a cloud of dust" era is long gone.
Michigan will be fortunate to win enough games next season to qualify for a bowl game let alone have any shot in hell of beating Ohio State.

This. 1968 Wolverines were 8-2 and not a bad football team.believer;1697457 wrote: First, Michigan simply doesn't have the same talent pool available at the moment, pound for pound, as they did in 1969.
I do think some underestimate just how bad Hoke's staff was and how much better Michigan CAN be just by having Harbaugh and staff. I think they easily make a bowl. No reason 8 wins isn't attainable.
Also, they'll compete with OSU next year simply because...OSU. Just like they have the last 2 years when Michigan completely sucked. Now winning is an entirely different thing.

Will Hoke ever be a HC anywhere again?

Hard to say. It's been really eye opening seeing where his assistants have landed though. Definitely in over their head at Michigan.Tiernan;1697560 wrote:Will Hoke ever be a HC anywhere again?

Since he was good at a couple small-conference schools, I could see him resurfacing in a MAC/Sun Belt/C-USA sort of place. Seems to be a case where a guy was good at one tier of competition, but just over his head at the Big 10/power conference level.Tiernan;1697560 wrote:Will Hoke ever be a HC anywhere again?
