I think it's great that these schools have chosen to offer their services for free and that the professors are following suit.

Wait, what is being called "free" is actually someone being forced to pay someone else's bill?

Never mind.

Can't wait until the job market floods with 2 year degree people and they still can't find higher wage jobs. Basic economics. Someone has to flip the burgers and build the widgets.

Of course, why go through all the hassle of two years of college when you can get everything you need free already.

Community college is already free if you are a minority. Minorities get everything handed to them in this country and they still are the poorest of the poor but that's white people's fault for holding them back.

$60 billion dollars over 10 years of federal money and $20 billion of State money. Yeah, it's hardly free.

I bet States who are required to have a balance budgets by law are loving this. It wouldn't surprise me to see some States just completely dropping CCs.

Who fucking cares? Just spend imaginary money and never worry about where it comes from. Deficits and debt don't mean shit to any elected people. Spend spend spend spend and on and on and on...

Fuck it, everything should be free.

That's not true at the State level.

It is in the socialist strongholds of California, New York & Illinois. They know sugar daddy Barry will take care of their assinine choices.

There is no penalty anywhere anytime for spending billions upon billions. Just do it and shut the fuck up about "paying for it." What a worthless discussion.

It's kinda like the "trickle up" effect imo. taxpayers invest into the youth so they turn out to have better paying stable jobs instead of being on tax payer welfare which is much more costly.

He's pretty much looking into what they have going on in Tennessee. Also if I'm not mistaken it also includes technical college as well. Replubican Governor Bill Haslam started in his state so I would look into it a little more before saying it shouldn't happen. I would much rather pay for someone to attend a community college than pay for someone to sit at home on welfare.

Those aren't the only options and resigning to the fact that they are is just giving up and letting the Nanny State take care of us all.

We are in Ohio and we can't just print $20 billion dollars.

If you want you can STFU about it and we'll discuss it if we choose.

For that to work, it has to be one or the other. So if you choose to take the college money, you can't get welfare too.

If they did not take advantage of public education (free) what makes anyone think that a free community college will make a difference.
Community Education doesn't equal = work ethics, ambition, values, morals .....

Note: just having a Brown Tackie degree does jack shit along side a rap sheet, convicted felon and poor credit check report when it comes to hiring.
in general not all but many Community College is a free computer and money for six weeks until the system catches up, failed to show up and zero grade... Addition unpaid debt on to that already poor credit report.

what is needed to happen first is a schooling with a passing grade for .. Responsibility, work value, personal presentation, new ideology of self value and worth and what it means to have a job and the befits of keeping it.

I see this as more of a tool for the middle class because more than likely poor people already get the majority of the grant money.

From a political perspective, it's a stroke of genius.

From every other perspective, it's pretty fucking stupid.

We can't afford that either. We quite literally cannot afford a damn thing. $18T and growing fast.

Justin u are right and my internal ideology mirrors that. However investing in people is at least better than investing in shady foreign leaders I dunno it's the first time that a social party wants to waste money and I'm thinking okay.

I know so many people who owe over 50K in loans and while they manage it, it severely lowers their discretionary income which hugely impacts the economy.
