I just feel the Jets will take advantage of their solid opportunity and play their finest game of the year......yes a few other things can happen for the Steelers to sneak in...but enough has already went their way and they didn't take care of enough business when they had the chance.

Maybe next year!

Lamar Woodley has no room to bitch. If P'Burgh beats Kansas City, Oakland, and Cleveland(3 of the WORST teams in the league) they're not in this position to be needing all this help

I think he may have been trying to sneak some motivation into those set teams. Regardless, he's not a brainchild...but he had a great year for the Steelers, IMO our defensive MVP.

I think it is more like the Bengals will keep the Steelers out. If their seed is set, no way do they want the Steelers in the playoffs instead of the Jets.

Like I said on the other thread, it's first things first.

Unless the Steelers and Patriots win at 1 p.m. it doesn't really matter.

I think if the Steelers are alive at that point, the Raiders or Bengals might come through.

If the Bengals sit most of their starters than obviously the Jets have a shot. The Ravens would have to play real bad to lose to the Raiders at this point. I would be saying something differently if Gradkowski was playing.

Frye just doesn't have any arm downfield. He has to hit passes underneath. He does have some receivers to work with in Zach Miller, Louis Murphy and this guy Chaz Schilens who has come out of nowhere. Michael Bush is running well and Janikowski is locked in.

Not sure about the Raiders defense. They may very well get run over by Ray Rice and that will be the ballgame.

Both teams have been penalized a lot, which might be something that could impact the game.

Denver doesn't have any receivers playing.

Still should have enough to beat KC but who knows if Jamaal Charles can make a few big plays.

If the Jets "keep Pittsburgh out", that's what we deserve. As Darby mentioned, the team didn't beat KC, Oakland or Cleveland (the second time). Win one of those three games against bottom-feeders, they control their destiny against Miami; win two, they're in; win all three, they can win the division by beating over Miami despite losing twice to Cincinnati.

Yeah, it's disgusting knowing that we could be shut out of the playoffs in favor of a team that has Justincredible as a fan....I mean, benefited from the Colts pulling their key guys in the second half of a close game and could have the same advantage against Cincinnati.

Still, Indy and Cincy have earned the right to determine how they'll finish the season. While the method Indy chose makes me hope they fail AND if Cincy takes the same path, I'll hope they fail...they earned the right to make whatever choice they want. For our team to be in a situation where we need to hope that two of Oakland, New England and Cincinnati need to win shows they've failed in EARNING a playoff spot. We have to hope they luck into a wild card.

For what its worth............Marvin Lewis has said he is coaching this game to win. If the game is close his starters will stay in the game.

At the beginning of today the Jets were not the only factor to keep the Steelers out of the playoffs. The Jets could win and the Steelers could still make it.

1) Steelers win and Houston loses or ties, and New York Jets lose or tie.

2) Steelers win and Houston loses or ties and Baltimore loses or ties.

3) Steelers win and New York Jets lose or tie and Baltimore loses or ties and Denver loses or ties.

Now that Houston has just beat NE if the Jets can do something about the Steelers.

Have you ever heard a coach say otherwise?

Yes, I sure have. Indy's coach let everyone know he was taking starters out early. Marvin says his starters are playing. BTW, NE owns the tiebreaker over Cinci. So, looks like if Cinci wants the 3 bad enough starters should play.

As much as I respect Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh doesnt deserve to make it to the playoffs.

He'll be "coaching to win", but the players he puts on the field may not be the best he has, and the plays he calls may not be the best they have!

Nah, the Steelers kept themselves out by dropping too many games this season.
