And just as it gets published, my AD asks if 2000 sq ft will do?
I wanted balconies. If done correctly, two balconies could be used by as many as five sports throughout the year. If you go with just a wrestling room, it is pretty much just ours (which isn't the worst but hear me out). Having two balconies would give one side for wrestling/tumbling/cheerleading and the other side as baseball/softball along with track.
Just prior to the reporter calling me, the options for the new building had a) 1000 sq ft for wrestling or b) roll the mats out every day into the field house with basketball practice on the other side of the net. Neither were acceptable.
But hey, look at us now!!! 2000 sq ft, and it's a room AT THE HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huge, IMO.
