I dont think it would be smart to give up on him already, but I would also keep eyes out for another option. Shaw didnt look very good yesterday and missed alot of passes, but even he looked more comfortable in the pocket. I dont go into the season thinking JM is the future but ya dont give up quite yet unless you get a very intriguing trade involving him. What it would be? I dont know, but with the salary structure it wont kill them to keep him around for a bit longer.
If I am the browns though I keep a very, very close eye on him this offseason. I wouldnt allow him the leeway that you may give someone else.
