Lately it just seems, on the surface anyway, that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Here we are a year later, and we are back in the same situation we were last year. It's easy to get discouraged and to just lash out, even irrationally. I think the old guys, which includes me, are partiicularly vulnerable to this. We have spent a lifetime, rooting, hoping, praying, that one day our favorite team would get into the Super Bowl(let alone win)....and we remember when we were so close...3 AFC championship games....only to be denied by John Elway.
Christ, and that was 25-30 years ago.
So, I'm not going to beat up BR for something he said a month or two ago. The hits just keep on coming to the organization and it's fans. A lot has happened since we were sitting 6-3, just 2 months ago.
I get that. I addressed that in my response. WE ARE ALL sick of the bullshit, but sometimes you need to be called out on your logic. He said this is the most pessimistic he is about the Browns in his entire life. If he said that the last 10 years have just brought this down, then that would make sense, but he is making the 2015 team out to be the worst team since their return without even a draft class and thinking about how irrational that comment it. We all say irrational shit as cleveland fans (hell, I'm sure you can find a couple posts i regret about the cavs), but i am ok with admitting how irrational it was. Br is just working the spin machine here.
Also, I am sorry, but save me the sob story. At least you guys have seen consistent winning football in your lives. You guys stay loyal, because of the tradition that you once knew. Most of us were born as fucking Browns fans, because of fathers like you and we have had nothing but misery. So let's not play this old timers' pain vs younger guys' pain game.
