lol These commercials are funny. Lately they keep throwing jabs at each other. How did this all started and which side is winning this beef? :D

It started because they are pretty much the only 2 phone companies left. I think the iPhone had GREAT ads to start. Verizon was struggling and made a BIG HIT with the "map for that/3g coverage" I think the recent Luke Wilson commercials re really weak. So currently in the ad campaign I think Verizon has an edge.

Are you talking about this Luke Wilson Commercial - ?

When this Verizon commercial first came out, I started cracking up laughing! -

all the luke wilson commercials are bad. They should have stayed the course with the "theres an app for that" but Verizon really did get em good with the "map for that" rebuttal. I suppose AT&T had to change, but they swung and missed so far.

AT&T is misleading in their commercials. Verizon has them with the larger 3G coverage area. AT&T uses regular coverage maps in theirs..

I don't know how people do it with the Iphones, both my roommates have them and the constantly drop calls. I have sprint and a smart phone and never drop calls. Once they open up the Iphone to Verizon, they will surpass AT&T.

I like Verizon. I've dealt with both companies and much prefer V. Also, in general, they are cheaper for their various services.

Between the 2 I like AT&T better..I get coverage in more areas with them than I did when I had Verizon..keep in mind..that was at least 5 years ago though. So I'm sure it has gotten a lot better since then. But if not...I'll stick with AT&T.

Verizon has AT&T pinned with the "There's a map for that" ad. AT&T's response is severely lacking.

Yeah I liked the Island of Misfit Toys commercials that Verizon had.

I used to have AT&T but I had no coverage at home. Verizon came in about 6 months ago and I switched to them right before Christmas. Glad I did.

I use Verizon so naturally I like them better.

Once the iPhone goes to Verizon, ATT is done, and you can take that to the bank.

Verizon actually was approached by apple first for the iphone. They turned it down because of the rules apple was making for them to carry the phone.

T-mobile will get the next Iphone. Many people already unlock iphones to use on tmobile. Not to mention tmobile parent company deutsche telekom already carries the European iphone.

To answer your question. Verizon is winning the ad war and the total customers war.

I think a lot of Iphone customers will jump ship to Verizon if/when they get it.

For the record, I can make calls AND browse the web on my Storm at the same time. I hate liars.

The day the iphone goes to a different carrier (hopefully Verizon) I will be dropping AT&T like a bad habit. What a piece of crap company.

^^I've got AT&T, and I agree. You hardly get any coverage. Never 3G unless you're in a big city. If the iPhone was to go to Verizon, AT&T is pwned.

People at work that have the Iphone always complain about bad coverage. I have verizon and have no complaint.

VZW is clobbering AT&T right now.

And I wouldn't be too sure about the iPhone going to Verizon just yet. While they do have the most cash, it doesn't make as much sense for Apple to have to completely reconstruct the phone to suit the CDMA network. It makes more sense for them to go to T-Mobile where it's just a few alterations to the chipset to get it to work on that network. However, that would spell disaster for Apple as TMO's coverage isn't so hot.

Within the next 5 years or so...I see Sprint dropping Nextel (probably selling all the towers and the technology to the government), and then Verizon buying out Sprint. Soon after, AT&T will join with T-Mobile...and we'll have two choices: CDMA or GSM.

Within 5 years, 3 of the 4 carriers have already committed to LTE for their 4G networks, leaving Sprint alone with Wimax. So the GSM vs. CDMA will be a thing of the past pretty soon. I don't see the FCC allowing the Mergers of said companies. You are more likely to see the Germans
(T-Mobile)buying up Sprint which has been a hot rumor both in Europe and the US for some time now.

ATT does have faster 3g when it's up and running, though they have reliability and coverage problems. Their voice network is pretty solid however.

They need to quit being babies and either invest in their infrastructure now or plainly admit that they don't want to invest a bunch of money now when they're switching to LTE (a different network technology like GSM or CDMA that most carriers are headed to) in 2011/2012.

Iphone for work and blackberry for personal. Blackberry is with ATT now b/c when I had Verizon, I usually had the fake 1 bar that couldn't make calls. ATT is MUCH better.

I have Tmobile and their 3G coverage is absolutely horrible. I almost upgraded to their new droid phone until I looked at the coverage map....only major cities in Ohio. Verizon is probably where I am going after my contract is up in October.

By that time you will be surprised with T-Mobile 3G network. They are late to the game but first half of '10 they are going straight to 7.2mbps HSPA + which will blow Verizon/Att 3g out of the water. Current Test Market in Philly is getting T-Mobile up to 21mbps. This basically is bridging the gap until the carriers get to LTE (4G)
