I'm not worried about Mississippi state. Do they even have a top 25 win?Azubuike24;1678433 wrote:The Big 12 isn't the team to worry about. The worst scenario for OSU is Alabama winning out, being the consensus #1 team and having MSU sitting there in the mix with their only loss being a 5-point loss at Bama. The ONLY thing that helps OSU or Baylor would be the argument that MSU didn't win the SEC. Every other sign points to them being the 4th seed.
Yes their loss is "better" than Ohio states loss. But our wins are better than theirs, and that counts for more with the committee.

So you're convinced that Ohio State is in if they win out?
Mississippi State does have wins over Auburn, plays #18 Ole Miss and also has wins over Arkansas, LSU and A&M (26th, 27th and 32nd in the latest polls).
Also, their win over LSU could be comparable to an OSU win over Wisconsin, who lost to LSU.
It may just depend on what the committee values more...

And yes, I think Baylor and TCU will eliminate themselves.
Baylor and Mississippi State did nothing in the non-conference, but the SEC is a better league.
TCU lost to Baylor, and thus, didn't win the Big 12.
The real debate is OSU vs MSU...I believe.

Arkansas has 1 win over a ranked team that is complete trash and they are 26.
No SEC bias though! Might as well rank Indiana and call it a great win.

Boise St at 8-2 sits at #23 and Marshall at #24....whoever finishes higher likely gets UCLA in a New Year's Day bowl.
Marshall is favored by 23.5 over Western Kentucky and Boise is 9 point favorites over Utah St. Both will have conference championships the next week.

Was very close, they moved up Minnesota a bit more than I thought and they actually dropped Ole Miss more than I thought. An SEC team dropped 11 spots!Ironman92;1677234 wrote:Guessing...

OSU needs to kick ttun's ass this weekend, and then beat whomever in the B1G 'ship, whether it's Minny or Wisky.se-alum;1678569 wrote:OSU needs Wisky to win this weekend.

The debate wasn't about why Arkansas is where they are. It's funny that is the only response. Still wait to here ccrunner's "why the Big 12 is a better league than the SEC" argument.

Obviously they have to win, but Wisky would help them more than Minny.vball10set;1678592 wrote:OSU needs to kick ttun's ass this weekend, and then beat whomever in the B1G 'ship, whether it's Minny or Wisky.

So Marshall is finally ranked, but the committee pulled Boise out of nowhere and ranked them ahead of them, which means they would get the BCS bowl assuming they win out.

They'll look at everything closely I'll assume.Pick6;1678628 wrote:So Marshall is finally ranked, but the committee pulled Boise out of nowhere and ranked them ahead of them, which means they would get the BCS bowl assuming they win out.
Boise plays in a tougher conference but also doesn't have a win against any power 5 conference team and has a 14 point loss to one of them (Air Force)
Boise was most impressive in giving Wyoming and BYU their largest margin losses of the season...on the flip side they gave up 49 points and 509 yards rushing to 3-8 New Mexico and allowed Nevada to score more points against them than any other team on Nevada's schedule.
Loss to Ole Miss 35-13 which is moot when comparing just against Marshall (though Ole Miss losing again could hurt Boise a touch)

Maybe, but imo, all they have to do is win the B1G CG and they're in, no matter who they play...I think them beating ttun by a lot will weigh more with the committee because of the timing, as this could jump them to 6th or 5th based on what the teams ahead of them do.se-alum;1678614 wrote:Obviously they have to win, but Wisky would help them more than Minny.

Don't hold your breath. He's more in the "say something stupid and move on to say something else stupid" class, as opposed to this site's Codger Demographic who will say something stupid and then defend it for hours, no matter how utterly fucking moronic they sound.Azubuike24;1678594 wrote:The debate wasn't about why Arkansas is where they are. the last place team in the ACC coastal put a whoopin on the first place team in the Big Ten. apparently the B1G is worse.Classyposter58;1678778 wrote:Good god I wish the Big 10 was as shitty as the ACC was

Dont really hear lots of people saying that they should be number one. I think being third is a testament of their weak schedule and barely beating teams but if you are from a power conference and go undedefeatd...you will be in the final 4.Classyposter58;1678778 wrote:I'm sick of all the talk about how Florida State deserves to be #1. I agree. Both Bama and/or Oregon have been ahead of FSU for a month. That shows their play has been unimpressive to the committee. It also shows that an FSU loss means they are immediately eliminated from contention, while many other 1-loss teams aren't.
With that said, they deserve credit because they are still unbeaten.

Probably, because they are still either 1 or 2 in the polls and #2 in the computer polls. They would probably be #2 behind Bama in the BCS standings.thavoice;1678846 wrote:I wonder, if this was strictly BCS rankings...would FSU be in the top two?
