I can't get the hood opened...

...on my 2003 F150! It is a nice truck with 145K miles that looks and runs really nice. However, I don't drive it a lot (2,000 miles since I got it in February) and it will sit for extended periods of time. I went to do an oil change on it and couldn't get the hood open. When I pull the interior latch nothing happens. The cable still appears to be attached to the interior latch but won't release the hood. Any suggestions?

push down on the hood and get someone to pull the hood release .. hope this help
