The answer is no, because it's not an issue. If it were, the NBA wouldn't have them doing this game.

As long as they don't call 6 fouls on Lebron before the 4th quarter, who cares? Chicago can have the refs, we got Lebron.

Ok hardass, I guess you are answering my questions for me. My post above constitutes as a "yes," I do have a problem with that. Also to the bolded part. That's just fucking stupid and implying everything the NBA does is correct.

So which team do you Cav fans think would be the 'easier' matchup between Wash/atl?

I'll take the bait...

I personally would prefer to have home court. I don't know that I think either team is "easier" per say, as they both present different challenges. Atlanta does scare me with how hot they can get shooting the basketball, but I'd be a fool if I said, "yeah! Bring on John Wall, Brad Beal, Paul Pierce, and Gortat! This will be a cake walk!"

The fact is, at this point in the playoffs, all of these teams belong. Pierce has brought a tremendous veteran presence to Washington, and has already hit several huge shots in the playoffs (even last night's 3 was huge, they just gave up the bucket at the other end). Likewise, Atlanta has a ton of weapons that can all go off. Even Schroeder off the bench can be a major threat, so we will just have to see. I think I would prefer Washington, simply because I think it makes us "deeper" because Mozgov will play more than 16 minutes against Gortat, but I don't think one is any easier than the other.

Guess wildcats forgets his QQing about Gibson's Flagrant 2. Just an example of recently where the NBA got it and wrong and Wildcats acknowledged it.

First of all, yes I have a problem with a ref doing a game in their home state.

Second, these two refs from Chicago probably grew up within 10 miles of the United Center. LOL at comparing living within a few miles of the fucking arena to being from the same state, a state that is nearly a thousand miles wide lol

This. The ref in the Houston/LA game could've grown up in Dallas or San Antonio and absolutely hates the Rockets. A lot different than two refs who grew up in Chicago.

Turned out fine since the Cavs blew them out of the water. I don't think anyone here is saying the Cavs are going to lose and that the NBA is fixed. You're the one making the comments a bigger deal than it is. Most of us are just saying you shouldn't be able to ref a team from your home city. We get it, you want to be devils advocate while the Cavs are in the playoffs, but you're trying too hard on this one.

It comes down to how professional you think the refs will be. Neither Wildcats nor Like_that are right or wrong. Given recent history, you can justifiably be wary of NBA referee impropriety just as you can justifiably argue that they're professionals and nothing should impact that.

Also an important point. This is more of a discussion on the policy than an attempt to pre-emptively blame the Cavs loss on an externality.

Indeed they should be, but there is also human nature involved. If I were the head official for a Browns/Cavs game, I would have a hard time naturally giving the toss up calls to the opposing team. It is simply human nature. Anybody who says they could call a 100% straight game for their favorite team growing up is only kidding themselves.

Have you ever been in a position where you had to rid yourself of subjectivity in order to be objective? Once you reach a baseline of objectivity it's pretty damn hard to allow subjective forces to impact your objectivity, even in sports. I can attest, even though it wasn't refereeing.

It's not a situation many people experience and so I don't find it surprising you say someone who believes they can call an objective game is kidding themselves.
