Which had the strongest team? Could probably include the early 70 A's or Orioles of that period. But for now, which of the 3 had the best team?

Well...I know the tribe had better hitting than the Big Red Machine. The 61 Yankees pounded it too.

1961 Yankees had a then record 240 team home runs.

64 of them came from 3 guys who shared the catching duties: Elston Howard 21, Johnny Blanchard 21 and Yogi Berra 22.

Maris and Mantle combined for 115.

Moose Skowron chipped in 28.

First off, why even throw the 76 Reds in there. Good team, not great. Why not use 1975?

61 Yanks. 109 wins. WS title.
75 Reds. 108 wins. WS title.
95 Indians. 100 wins. No WS title.

Is this a serious thread?

Reds swept the playoffs in 76...thus the comparison asshole. The Indians had the highest winning percentage over the other 2. Also a much higher winning percentage than the 75 Reds. Need more?

Should've asterisked that 95 was a strike shortened year or gave a winning %

Not winning it all kills them in this argument. You might as well include the 2001? Mariners

Or the one Giants team from before the Wild Card got implemented that won over 100 games (I'm thinking 103, but not positive), but didn't make the playoffs.

Very difficult to compare teams from different era's. I try to then compare the players from each team with how good they are with the players of that time frame, so basically if a team has a number of HOF'ers i go with them as they had more players who excelled in their era to the extent they were seen as some of the best ever.

I know its not the best way to do it, but just the way I do i.t
