Well Bruce has been put on the bereavement list, so what do the Reds do?? Yup, bring up ANOTHER reliever. Curtis Partch has been recalled. He successfully hit a batter, catcher, AND the home plate umpire on ONE pitch last night in a game for the Bats.

This is gonna be a good one.

Did not know you could go on the bereavement list to mourn the death of one's own career......

You know what this means right?

Reds win tonite.

Having an extra reliever is about a necessity, though, considering they went 15 and, despite Homer being really good, they still went through their good pen guys. And Hoover. Never forget Hoover, no matter how much you want to because for some reason, Price still uses him in key situations no matter how much he sucks...you'd think a guy who was a pitching coach before becoming manager would be a bit more dialed into things like "this guy has sucked all year except for a really good 3-week-or-so period, so maybe I ought to only be using him to mop up innings in blowouts until he starts showing the ability to consistently get people out".

The Reds already have 23 pitchers on the big league roster. What's another?

The problem isn't that we have too many pitchers.....the problem is that we currently have 25 guys on our roster hitting like pitchers

Lead off double for Billy. Frazier drives him in. Well alright then.

Reds in 6th inning saw 19 pitches and scored

Reds in 3rd-5th innings only saw 31 pitches total....didn't score

I think he tops out at a #3 starter who probably can't be depended on in the playoffs because of how many hits he gives up.

I love watching Leake pitch. He is like a poor mans Greg Maddox. Just shows you dont need to throw mid 90s or be nasty. Mix it up, change the zone, and you can be successful.
