Keith Wakefield has applied for the Perry job. I find that very interesting. Your thoughts?

I don't know if Cybak would be the best choice. At Fairless he often over-thought many of the games that he should've won and lost. I think he is a better coordinator/assistant than head coach. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

Hasn't Wakefield been an assistant at Mt. Union the past few years?

Wakefield, Daniska, Frye wold all be good choices with proven backgrounds. The sleeper choices could be Ciulli, Youel, and perhaps Jones. Jones being the one candidate I know less about, but coming in from Steubenville and learning from Reno, I would think he would have some good credentials.

It will be interesting to see what direction the selection committee goes with narrowing down the list.

Looks like Wakefield is the front runner according to Todd Porter. Sounds like he will be named HC early this week, Porter couldn't be wrong, could he?

Jones' name surprises me. Usually Big Red assistants stay in Steubenville for their entire careers. Most of them know the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.

I understand where you're at with this comment, being even an assistant at Steubenville is better than most head coaching jobs.

But I believe a job at Massillon Perry is a job that could really be a great opportunity for someone, Stark County IS HS football, for the right man, this could be a real gem of a job.
