1-0 losses must mean I start the next thread too, even after an L. After all, they have been pretty common this year.

Either way, bottom 7 now, no thread, Reds up 2-1. Idiot fan in right field cost the Reds a much-needed run as a Ramon Santiago inside-the-park HR was overturned and called an out.

Sorry, I didn't see your thread! must have been bad luck as two out lightning with a double and pinch single by Weeks tie it at 2. Looked like Latos was cruising thru the 8th, then bam, bam its tied.

Reds had 3 hits in the first to take a 2-0 lead. Frazier and BP got 1 out his in the first, and then after Bruce knocks in a run with a force out, Ludwick gets a 2 out hit to knock in the 2nd run. But since then The Reds have gotten 5 more hits thru 7 innings and all have been with 2 out and none of them big enough to get any run.s in.

Santiago nearly hit a HR to RF, but upon video review, they took away a hit and called him out on fan interference with the RFs opportunity to catch the ball. The fan had it in his glove for a bit and then dropped it on the field, and the play on the field was ruled an inside the park HR. I thought they called it exactly correctly.
I disagree on the call. It wasn't a HR, but Schaffer was fully extended and the catch would've been near the top of the wall. How can you assume an OUT? It should've been a single or a double, but not from a HR to an out.
Finally, Jay Bruce does something. The guy hasn't had a hit in a week...

Bruce with a bomb to take a 4-2 lead. Will Broxton or Chapman come in for the 9th?

Why wouldn't Chapman come in?

Because they don't want to waste Broxton's warm-up! Not saying its a good reason, but a reason.

Chapman, according to Welsh, is not even in the pen.

Yeah, normally you would've had Broxton AND Chapman up in the bottom 8. Just in-case they get the lead, which they did.

Either way, Broxton goes 1-2-3 in the 9th. Reds somehow only 6 back, still 4th in the Central though. Hands down toughest division in MLB. Interestingly, 5 of the other 10 teams in the NL have a worse record than the last place Cubs.

Big win to be 2 games less behind than if they would have lost!

That ball was coming down at least a foot in front of the top of the wall. You cannot assume that he would have caught it, but the out call includes some rightfully punitive element against the idiot home fan. Would have been interesting if it was the same play, but Bruce trying to catch it. I thing the right call for that would have been a double, again some punitive element against the hone fan!

Price in post game comments said Chapman tweaked his hamstring in the OF in pre-game.

@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Reds' Votto likely headed back to DL with same injury as before - strained left quad.

Inevitable.

Chappy, Cueto, and Frazier all make the ASG team by players vote.

That's great for Meso and Frazier, both definitely deserved it.

Huh.
Interesting.

Not usually a wife move to make 2 positions weaker. Guess he has been working at first for a couple of weeks now.
