Looking for a new cable service provider. Doesn't matter if it's satellite/cable. What are your recommendations? Any that you've used to stay away from? We had just been using Netflix and no cable, but looking to upgrade.

Ive had experience with DirecTV, U-Verse, Buckeye Cable and TWC.

U-Verse has been my favorite and the best, imo. I would probably prefer DirecTV, as I would buy all the packages for sports and be in heaven, but its at my cottage (no cable to be run, obviously) so we am not up there enough to pay for them. So its just basic. If you love sports, DirecTV is the best there is for everything, but it can get pricey.

I went with Dish Network 3 months ago. Best decision I've made. If you want to go Dish, I can give you a code that'll give both of us a $50 card.

I've had TWC and Cox Cable before, but they are much more expensive and lesser quality than Dish has been. I've got three boxes, more channels, DVR, and internet for cheaper than I've ever had just basic cable and internet.

Sports are great for Dish too, if it matters, they have the SEC Network and DirecTV doesn't. Doesn't matter to me, but my in-laws may drop DirecTV so they can have the SEC Network. Only thing I know good about DirecTV is their NFL package, which is good for 16 weeks a year.

I've had the best luck with Uverse so far. Promo deals for the first 1-2 years are pretty good too. If you go Uverse PM me, we would each get a $25 promo card to put toward bills or other ATT services for each service you sign up for (so 50 for tv and internet)

My parents have had Dish for 9 years now, I don't mind it but prefer Uverse

Fuck TWC

Another vote for uverse. They will probably cost about 10-15 bucks more a month but they also give you like $250 in visa gift cards if you sign up for internet and cable. If uverse isn't available wow isn't bad either.

I don't like TWC, but not a fan of ATT either...maybe it's because I'm spoiled by Buckeye???

I have WOW! and it's alright. It doesn't have watchespn which sucks. I just use my inlaws uverse account for it though.

Out of all the things people I know have I'd say UVerse probably get the best reviews.

So you enjoy them overpricing you and not having NBC since January? Gotcha. As soon as AT&T uverse comes to Perrysburg I am switching. Regional cable companies have no power anymore.

Checked into AT&T, they don't have service in my area.

Their service is top notch, but they simply cannot compete pricing wise. It's sad because I think people want to support the local company, but not at the price of $30-$50 more per month and terrible
promotions.

No NBC has cost them a lot of customers. I'm all behind them in the fight cause they are correct on the matter (legally speaking), but they have no power in the argument. They needed to
cave in yesterday.

Out of curiosity, how long will AT&T Uverse last when the AT&T purchase of DirecTV goes through? I never heard.

Good post, and you make valid points. However, I'll continue to use them, as their COS is second to none (I hear horror stories about ATT & TW constantly)...and yes, the NBC thing is ridiculous and needs to get settled.

Just get rid of it all together.

I did that this spring. A couple of days it was a bit odd, mostly just out of the habit of turning the TV on when you are home, but after a couple of days I dont even miss it and get much more shit done!

Dish with super Joey ftw. You can get redzone channel which if you live in your teams coverage area is the only thing worth having on Sunday ticket for $6 a month.
