It does sound silly when you listen to it. But that commitment to doing it right is probably what kept his show at the forefront for decades.

Agreed. I used to listen every weekend when I went through my "bubble gum" phase.

Still it's interesting to hear "the dark side" of Kasem especially when he was considered an upbeat voice in the highly competitive pop chart business.
