Saw it scrolling where Jurgen says he is optimistic Jozy plays sunday...I just don't see it. Even if it's not as bad as we think, I would think he still needs time to recoup.

Don't play him. We have a slight edge on Portugal to advance, so it's not a do or die game where Altidore needs to play. Not worth the risk, of we advance, as need him vs Belgium. Try to get him fit for that.

That said, if he is fit, play him.

It is pretty much do or die though. Lets not forget Portugal is still a very talented team that had a bad game. I'm pretty worried Ronaldo is going to rip us apart

I could see them running Ronaldo at Beasley all day long. I'm still confident we can draw.

I'm really interested to see what changes Jurgen makes.

Don't forget Pepe's out for this game, and that'll factor in as well.

Pepe, and Coentrao, and potentially Patricio and Almeida.

I swear, if Mexico ties Brazil ... fuck Mexico.

Why does everyone hate Mexico? It's only good for US when they look good. We are clearly better. If they do well, we look good.

Because fuck mexico

If they do well it has absolutely no effect on us in the world cup. Aside from the off chance we face them in the knockout stage as opposed to Brazil or something

I hate Mexico too, especially when we play them. But they've been our Bitch for the last 5-6 years. We don't need to worry about them. They only help us with good results.

Not sure why the US cares about Mexico. They aren't even in our group.

Hell of a game for a 0-0 draw. Ochoa was unreal.

Serious questions have to be asked about Brazil. They've looked poor in these first two games and look nowhere near championship caliber

Fuck Mexico, but I have to say I'm pretty impressed with them so far this WC after barely qualifying. Hope that's a good sign as how the US stacks up against the big boys.

Although I like that the US team has integrity, part of me wishes they didn't score those two goals in extra time against panama to save Mexico.

No it isnt. If we had lost or drawn, then it's do or die. Now it isn't. Even with a loss there are a ton of possibilities that can happen which we advance

Yeah, "do or die" was yesterday, hence why EVERYONE was saying it was a must win game.

Not sure why, but I have a good feeling about Sunday.

Michigan doing well only theoretically helps us (helps the perception of the B1G) which doesnt mean shit. Mexico doing well DIRECTLY helps us keep the 4th Concacaf spot and an easier road to the WC. IMO, we should root for every single concacaf team in the WC in every game unless they play us. I was happy mexico tied 0-0, and I hope they make it through

They only have 3 spots, the 4th is a playoff. The only way they will gain an automatic 4th (or more) is if the WC expands to more teams (doubtful). They sure as hell are not going to take away bids from Europe or South America.

So, as has been said numerous times... Fuck Mexico.

THat's not true. We had a 4th spot in 2006. We lost it because of how bad we played. That year Asia and South America played for the final spot. It's all based on confederation strength.
