Rollingstone has a report out that Obama is about to lay the hammer down on the American way of life with a 1-2 punch of killing the Keystone pipeline as well as coal powered electric plants in June.

Exactly how the president has weighed the decision on Keystone is a closely guarded secret in the White House, known only to a few senior advisors like Valerie Jarrett and Dan Pfeiffer. But it's no surprise that I was told recently by members of the administration that the pipeline would, in fact, be rejected. "If the president is really serious about his legacy on climate change, he can't have that and approve Keystone," an Obama insider told me. "The only question now is the timing of the announcement."

He did promise us that heating and electric bills would have to necessarily skyrocket, so this shouldn't be much of a surprise.

The worst part about killing coal is that it is going to increase the speed at which everyone switches over to natural gas, which is going to put alot of upward pressure on that inevitably.

The left in this country complain about income inequality, but seemingly every program they are interested in is premised around people paying exponentially higher prices for everything whether they have the money for it or not. It just doesn't make sense.

Literally everything he has had anything to do with has turned into a disaster.

It absolutely makes sense. With higher prices come higher taxes for those of us who can afford it which gives the leftists more money to spread around in the form of subsidies to their voting constituents who actually can't afford it.

The sad part is whether Canada goes a different direction or waits for a new administration (I have a suspicion Hillary would approve it).

If Repubs take the Senate in November it's going to make for some great kabuki theater. I wonder if, at that point, Obama will remain stubborn or actually work with Congress to try to accomplish something worthwhile for his legacy.

Scary part is Obama appears more concerned with positioning himself for a post-Clinton type of legacy, at a minimum...I think it's likely he's going to seek far more power and influence through his Organizing For America PAC. And because of that, he seems to be focused on avoiding general accountability while remaining popular with his base - which adds up to a whole lot of no leadership on what's best for America.
