by doing it, they prevented the obvious alternative, a single payer plan

It only became an obligation when the Affordable Care Act made it mandatory by law. Businesses had the ability to stop it at any time prior to that.

and so in your view, they and theirs should suffer. hunger can be such a great motivator especially in the very young.

No needs to suffer. Clean up the fraud within the system, correct the records, applicants re-apply for entitlement support, establish limits time requirements quotes, track down dead beat fathers, abusive multi pregnant women, parents that adanded their kids to grandparents, habitual drug users and criminals offender get them out of the entitlement programs, establish a program system that rewards for achievement and decreases entitlement for improper behavior and criminal actions. The object of entitlement support should be to create a useful and prosperous individual with better structure for the next generation. Not a system of dependency

So in your society there is no reward for hard work, and no consequence for laziness. You can take that crap somewhere else.

. What made them so dependent on being needy? Why is it that many poor and poverty individual become prosperous responsible citizens but a majority continue the path of poverty, dependency and strain the fibre of society.

They remain needy ( with exceptions of the handcap, ill and mentally challenge) because they are trapped in a system that keeps then down, comfortable with receiving little for doing nothing, no incentive of achievement and most of all a generations of learned behavior not to proper but to blame.

gosh now if we just starved them a little bit, that would motivate those families.

If you want to motivate Free Post Secondary Education
[LEFT]"If someone at the bottom graduated from college, there was an 86 percent chance they would jump up at least one fifth on the income ladder. They also had a 53 percent chance of jumping up two levels to the middle fifth of income. This is almost a complete flipping of the chances people have without a college degree."

You should still have to qualify, even if it's free. Can't just sent everyone to college. Economies don't support it.
