dogs...

although i should pull out a quote from DeNiro in Meet The Parents...

"so you prefer an emotionally shallow animal?"

"no, I just prefer dogs"

"cats make you work for their affection, they don't sell out like dogs do."

Dog. We had a boston terrier but he had to be put down. My wife has a cat and I have grown to like it.

Cats for sure. I spent the first 24 years of my life with Basset Hounds (always had at least 2, sometimes 3), and will never have a dog again. They are loud, bark too much, shed too much, have to go to the bathroom all the time, need constant maintenance in that you can't leave them for half a day without arranging for care. it was like having a child. I am very over dogs now.

I always have had cats as well (mostly tuxedo cats...black n' white males havet the most personality), and like them oh so much more. They are smaller versions of dogs in my opinion as far as personality, and they love to hang out. You get the companionship of a dog while still being able to live without them dictating your life. You can leave for a weekend and they are just fine with a full food bowl, water and clean litter pans.

Cats get a bad rap for some reason among alot of people, but as far as I am concerned it is like having a no maintenance dog which is fine by me.

Dogs. Cats are way too sneaky to me. You never know where they are at.
