Saw where dumbass Delaney is thinking about Friday night games for the B1G. Dude has some of the worst ideas ever.

It's an awful idea. High school football is HUGE in the Midwest and this would mean schools would lose out on having recruits at a night game because they are playing that same day. Stupid. Luckily if it does happen it's not going to affect osu. It'd be for the lesser teams who need exposure

Haha it won't happen, and IMO shouldn't. Weekday games kinda defeat the purpose of college football

I give him props for sticking with a school.

Still don't like his dad though.

Both. He seems to play the "my wife died of cancer" card a bit more than he needs to.

Also, he's not a very good announcer.

He either refuses to go along with actual good ideas citing "tradition/pageantry/shit no one cares about" as to why he's being stubborn, or comes up with retarded shit out of left field. There's no middle ground.

Ur an ass. Really? Spielman is about as good as it gets for a person, a role model, a father and an husband. I don't recal him once, ever on TV for a football game, saying anything about his wife passing. The things he does, are to bring awareness and continue to raise money for cancer research. What he has done in that area, is beyond anything you or most people could probably even imagine doing in your life. That comment by you, is just pitiful.

I think he's a pretty good announcer but everyone has his taste

As for the cancer thing, that is pretty low. I don't recall him ever looking for sympathy (which is what you're implying), only using his position to try and raise money/awareness for breast cancer research.

Anyway.....Mike McQueary's life has just gotten even worse

Living at home with mom and dad, divorced (or separated), unemployed from his dream school, may never coach again, and now this....

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10546874/mike-mcqueary-former-penn-state-assistant-said-was-sexual-abuse-victim-sources-say

Reports from PSU meetings that he admitted to being sexually assaulted as a kid AND he bet on Penn State games while he was quarterback back in the 1990s (which I specifically remember that 96 game at Happy Valley against MSU that was brought up)

I mean, he does run the Stephanie Spielman Foundation, so chances are, the death of his wife is going to come up on occasion.

He can get a bit preachy about how he thinks players and fans should act, but otherwise I agree

I get that. It just seems like every time I see him he's releasing a book or doing a charity event. It's probably because I live in Columbus and see him and his family plastered all over the place, whether it's on a billboard, an OSU/Indiana game, or a Donatos commercial.

I'm not implying that per se, but it seems to me (being a college football fanatic) that I see it more than the average person. I've personally seen them take time out of football games to talk about his charity. There's a time and a place to bring it up, and during a football game is not one of them... Just rubs me the wrong way.

You're absolutely right.

I am not against him or what he stands for, it just seems like he preaches the issue a bit too much for my taste.

Its not like I hate him only because of the cancer thing. I hate his announcing style/voice way more than his cancer agenda. Its like a 99:1 hatred towards his poor announcing.

He fumbles over his words, slurs, and states the obvious all of the time.

He's up there with Beth Mowins if you ask me. Fuck Beth Mowins

Does he just bring it up, or is he asked about it?

Like during halftimes and stuff sometimes they'll pause and have a brief moment "So Craig, tell me about this charity..." and whatnot. I feel like there's plenty of other avenues he could explore instead of plugging his charity during a football game. I didn't tune in to listen to him plug his charity, I just want to watch some football.
