That's great. Glad the coaches are pulling this together. I recall a lot of talk on the boards last year or so about getting this together. This should be an exciting event for the CCS schools. Hope the kids are stoked about it and I am hopeful this can be built upon to get grander each year.

With a horse in the race, I don't want to make an assumption, but I would say West and Whetstone are always near the top in the city and Mifflin is the reigning city league champ.

Good luck to all teams come Thursday! ;)

West has some tough guys, but is VERY young as a whole this year. Will see a little drop in their # of district qualifiers this season but will hopefully be back up by next year.

Coach Cat at West was the catalyst and the rest of the coaches gladly agreed to it to promote wrestling in the city. We all know wrestling is often over-looked, especially in the city, so this is a big step forward in acknowledging and exulting the blood, sweat and tears put forth by the student-athletes brave enough to be wrestlers! : thumbup:

Kudos to Coach Cat. The lack of feeder programs and the focus on other sports, not to mention some of the socio-economic and demographic challenges at a lot of the CCS schools, have got to make it a real up-hill-climb to build a wrestling team, let alone a wrestling program. I give huge props to the coaches and staffs at these various schools for going what they do. If I wasn't committed elsewhere already, I'd love to come check it out. Good luck to all the kids and teams. Hope it is a step toward greater things for CCS wrestling.
