ESPN has hired Tim Tebow as an analyst.

Not sure if this topic was more appropriate for pro or college. But he got plenty of media love in both so I put it here. Any chance we get a SoS reply?

Man, I was hoping he was going to be the back-up QB behind Manziel for the Browns when McDaniels comes to town. So much for that dream.

His ESPN contract has an out clause allowing him to pursue QB leads, so you can keep dreaming it, lol

Of course you would hope that. Anything to add to your troll QQing material.

I hope Tebow at least replaces Lou Holtz.

If they use him correctly (as an analyst rather than a spectacle), he should be very good in this role.

When did "hoping" become an iron clad prediction?

I am trying to think of how to make the best of a bad situation. When you are going to be stricken with a bum like McDaniels if you don't try and laugh about it you will end up crying.

I don't really like his Bob Dylan voice.

I don't want to hear a 20-something year old who's not good enough to play football talk about football.

Pssh he was incredible in college. Lets not forget how unstoppable he was under Urban, I think he set the all time completion percentage record in SEC history

What does age have to do with it? Another Boomer who thinks they are the only generation who is allowed to be good at anything?

He won a Heisman Trophy and is one of the most decorated college football players in history. He is surely qualified to analyze college football. He also did as much as or more in the NFL than many of people ESPN employs currently (Palmer, Kannell, Pollack, Herbie, etc.)

Will he be willing and able to speak truthfully when someone isn't getting the job done, or will he be an apologist? That would be my concern.

I dont see a problem with them hiring him. Believe he iwll be on the SEC network more.

If he does a good job then heck why not?
Only thing I would say is something that QCB mentioned...he has to be able to be critical when it is warranted.

His "oh my gosh - gee willikers" fake ass persona will make people want to riot after the first broadcast.

Eh I have no doubt that Tebow knows the game and especially the SEC but I just have always felt that he doesn't speak very well. Also as QCB said will he ever say anything bad about anyone?

As for him doing more then those other guys in the NFL... I'd say Kannell definitely did more than Tebow and Pollack most likely would have had a long NFL career if not for his injury. Palmer even lasted twice as long in the NFL than Tebow. Although Tebow did start one year and Palmer was a backup all 4 years he was in the league.

While your first comment may be on point, I dont see where his persona is fake ass.
He has been in the crosshairs of peope for quite a long time. If his outward persona was fake and not genuine it would have come out by now by assholes such as yourself.

How he performs in the job is still unknown. All I am saying is he is qualified to get a chance. Maybe he will surprise you. I hope ESPN has the balls to fire him if he doesn't do a good job.

Maybe just I've never thought he has been very articulate when he talks. Also I don't like his voice either. But I agree ESPN does have so others who are terrible. Maybe he will work out and I have no problems with them giving him a chance I just don't think he will last.

They also do alot of practice before they even hire guys anymore for positions like this. They go through mock interviews, analysis, etc.

What network a number of years ago had Joe Montana on? He was H O R R I B L E.

It isnt like Tebow is going to be the host of a show to my knowledge.

Jesus himself wasn't as clean cut as this guy puts on. He's fake ass for sure. And I probably am an asshole, but at least I'm genuine about being one.
