Anyone else dislike this time of year? I'm just not a Christmas fan, aside from the drinking.

Nope, the look on my daughter's face this morning when she saw the gifts was worth all the stress of the preparing.

I hate Christmas. Wake up and do our gifts, then go to the inlaws, then her grandparents, then travel 2.5 hours to my parents house, open gifts there, then go to my grandmas, before heading back to my parents to spend a couple of days. Fuck Christmas. Too damn busy to enjoy it.

I'd love to be able to spend 2.5 hours on the road. It's a 12 hour drive to my in-laws. It's 14 to my family. Between the two, it's 4.5. It all depends on what's going on and the route we take.

I told my wife the other day I just wasn't "feeling" Christmas-y this year. I don't know the reason, but I just didn't get into the "mood." I was thrilled to spend time with family, but maybe the 4 days on the road (round trip) back home bogs me down. Maybe the thought of a house purchase has me down. Maybe the thought of trying to get finances figured out with a kid coming in 12 weeks. I'm not sure what it was, but I felt a bit Grinchy.

Most likely it's because etb is a dick.

That is my guess.

I suggest quit visiting the grandparents during Christmas unless you're expecting a large inheritance from them.

hope this helps

So0unds like you need to consolidate the parties. WHy arent the grandparents at any of the parents' houses? I know when my grandparents were still around that is how it was done and worked great.

Christmas break is always a must. The rest of bball season is a no, for me. Every year, I try to make it through break without having any, but that usually stops at the wife's first family gathering. After NYE, I'm back on (or off?) the wagon.
